SEEK DAILY Saturday, November 16 Exodus 14:15-20 GUARDED FROM THE APPROACHING ENEMY “Then the angel of God, who had been marveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them.” Exodus 14:19, NIV God honours prayers and respects every word of faith expressed concerning Him. With Moses’ faith in Him and His ability expressed in verses 13-14, the Lord rose up as the Lord of Host to defend the Israelites. Both the angel guiding the people and the pillar of cloud, which signified God’s presence moved from their front to their back to shield them and fight against the Egyptians. God is a sufficient refuge for anyone who walks in the centre of His will (Psalm 46:1-20). Though the threat of the enemy may be great and frightening but the Lord will defend us so that we would not be swallowed up by the wicked ones who are determined to silent us. God’s angels are with His people (Psalm 34:7); He will surely deliver even when human strength is failing as it was for the Israelites (Psalm 34: 19-20; 9:9-10). RBT Passage: Ezek. 27, 28; Heb. 12
