SEEK DAILY, Thursday, September 4 Jeremiah 18:1-10 TURN FROM YOUR EVIL WAY And if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent…. Jeremiah 18:8, NIV One of the key words in our passage today is repentance. It is one of the pivotal prerequisites for receiving pardon for sin. Repentance goes beyond a mere feeling of sorrow for wrongdoing or improvement of behaviour. It is rather an internal change of mind and heart that must result into producing authentic fruits that bear witness to the changed heart. The above is what Jeremiah depicted with the scene at the potter’s house. While he looked upon the potter’s work, he learnt two great truths. God has authority and power to form kingdoms and nations as He pleases. He may dispose of us as He deems fit; and it will be absurd for us to dispute this, as the clay cannot quarrel with the potter. The truth is, He always goes by fixed rules of justice and goodness. When God goes against us in judgment, we may be sure it is for our sins; but sincere repentance from sin will prevent us from being punished. The challenge to you today is that God demands genuine repentance from you before you can walk in His favour. Therefore, repent! • Birthday Blessing: “And I have led you for forty years in the wilderness…..” Deuteronomy 29:5 Read Bible Through Passage: Proverbs 1, 2, 3; 1 Corinthians 13 A loser is a winner however many his losses, if he conquers himself. - Anonymous ************************ Meditations for the Day 04Sep2014 BIBLE VERSE FOR THE DAY People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs (1 Timothy 6:9-10 NIV). ******************* QUOTE FOR THE DAY Although money is not evil, it can prevent us from inheriting true riches if accumulating it is the goal of our lives. — Julie Ackerman Link
