SEEK GOD’S COUNSELStella Dhinakaran I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. (Psalm 32:8) Dearly beloved, The Lord says, "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go” (Isaiah 48:17). Isaiah 30:21 states, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’" As mentioned in the above Scripture verses, when you cling on to God inspite of your afflictions and struggles, He will show His way for you. His ways are full of wisdom and they are wonderful. Esther was an ordinary woman. But according to the will of God, she became the wife of Ahasuerus who was the king of 127 countries. She was a Jewish woman. There was an evil man called Haman. He gave ill-advice to the king to kill the Jews throughout his whole kingdom. Both the king and Haman did not know that Esther was a Jewish woman. Esther came to know that the king had already passed an order to kill all the Jews on a particular day. She was shattered. Do you know what she did? She went to the presence of God and fasted for three days without eating or drinking (Esther 4:14-17). Fasting is nothing but humbling yourself in the presence of God and pouring your heart out to Him. Esther knew that she could attain victory only through fasting. Dearly beloved, are you living in tears due to various reasons? Are you going through much agony on account of your afflictions? There is only one way for you. Just like Esther, humble yourself in the presence of God and pour out your heart to God with fasting. When Esther humbled herself and fasted in the presence of God, the Lord opened a way for her. The king lovingly invited her and asked her as to what he should do for her. The king acceded to all her requests. Since the Lord opened a way for her, the king agreed to all that she requested. Finally, the evil Haman was hanged. Above all, the Jews were saved by the grace of God. The Lord says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you” (Psalm 32:8). Seek the counsel of the Lord in all that you do. He will guide you with His divine wisdom and surround you with His divine protection. Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus, Your ways are full of wisdom. I humble myself in your presence and seek your divine counsel. Direct me in the way I should go. Turn all my failures into victory. Surround me with your divine protection. Grant me eternal life. In Your matchless name I pray. Amen.
