SELF ACCEPTANCE Something I see a lot of with clients when they first come to me is lack of self acceptance not feeling good enough. It seems so common, especially in Northern Ireland, to put yourself down. If you build yourself up mentally you are seen as cocky and full of yourself. This behaviour is frequently frowned upon. Very often these negative beliefs about yourself come from childhood, sometimes a comment or a look from someone that you take on board and that becomes ‘your belief’. Don’t let other people judge you, they do not walk in your shoes. Other people’s negative comments are a reflection of them, their life and their challenges. They are not about you. Habouring negative thoughts and feelings towards yourself fills your body cells with negative energy and will create anxiety, depression and other issues. Be gentle with yourself. Recognise that where you are in your life is where you were meant to be but take a step in the direction of recognising what you have achieved in life (and there will be plenty). Be grateful for what you do have and start to believe that you can make positive changes. By loving yourself you will be able to give out more love and in turn receive more love. If you would like to make positive changes in your life to accept and love yourself please contact Darryl at McCullagh Hypnotherapy.
