SENATE PASSES NIGERIAN INSTITUTE OF ANIMAL SCIENCE BILL INTO LAW: The Senate on Wednesday, January 14th, 2015 passed for third reading and now awaiting presidential assent a Bill for an Act to Amend the consolidated Nigerian Institute of Animal Science Act No. 26, 2007 (Amendment) Bill 2015 (H.B. 478 and S.B. 504). sponsored by Senator Adegbenga Sefiu Kaka (SDP, Ogun East). The Bill was sponsored in order to properly define the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science regulatory role, to accurately and adequately enforce the provisions of the Act and to provide penalties for breach thereof. Senator Ike Ekweremadu (Deputy Senate President) led other Distinguished Senators at the chamber to pass the Bill which has 33 Clauses. The whole 33 Clauses of the Bill were passed without any correction or adjustment from the other Distinguished Senators at the chamber, this depicts perfect legislative work on the Bill by the sponsor.
