SERIES: WHY CPR? Why (Cant People Repent?) day 15 of the 21 day SERMONS : WILL HEAVEN WAIT ON ME??? : I Corinthians 15:10-22 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed. 12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. To produce faith in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God. To share the life that comes through such faith. To encourage us in such a faith in Jesus Christ John begins his gospel with a encouraging prologue with solid claims. Do you believe in Jesus? A better question is: Does the world believe in Jesus? What is the purpose for your life? You were designed to live a life of vision. God has made you unique. There is nobody else like you. There never has been, and there never will be. Its ironic that we spend so much time trying to be like other people. God doesnt want you to be like anyone else. Hes made you an original. There is nobody else with your set of strengths, nobody else with your personality. If youre not you, who will be you? Who else is going to make the contribution that only you can make? Whenever someone says that youre a character, you should thank them. You were designed to be a character. If youre not a real character, youre missing out.. Youre not living out the purpose that God intended for your life. In fact, we have no right to live visionless lives. You have no right to go through life without asking, Am I accomplishing the purpose for which God made me? Missing out on Gods plans for your life must be one of the greatest tragedies this side of eternity .............. Saints , GOD is still on the THRONE!! I come under the authority of the most HIGH. Blessed be the LORD who has kept me to this point. I pray your strength in this moment to receive what GOD will interpret through this writing. AMEN We are in a Season of Accountability / Responsibility.......Many of us are stressed by the disappointments of this world, distractions of all sorts (Baby needs diapers, you need a job, the bill collectors calling,) the Over-whelming Economic situations etc. etc. However let us be mindful that we are not who our situations claim us to be. We are who GOD says we are.. We need to learn how to change our lifes circumstances. GOD says we are overcomers and HE made a covenant (promise) That in ALL things trust on HIM and HE will never leave us nor forsake us. HE SAID IT, NOW believe it !! Its time to do what you do with a different attitude. The attitude of GOD !!!! I am so glad for the GRACE of GOD, which is sufficient for us. Let me encourage you by saying you are not in this on your own. You are not the first person to be facing foreclosure, shutoff notices, on public transportation , standing in a food or Welfare line waiting for assistance..etc. Let me ask you a couple of Questions: #1 Will you work for food? (2 Thes 3:10) 10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work , neither should he eat. #2 Are there any GAMBLERS in the house? Dont get caught up and twist the question as asked by saying I dont gamble or even play lottery ! We gamble everyday..... GODs WORD tells us if we disobey the least of HIS commandments we have already sinned and are in jeopardy of losing our LIVES to eternal damnation, Lest we REPENT. (Luke 13:3) 3 I tell you, Nay; but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. ......... Finally #3 Has the jury reached a verdict? We are so quick to form a judgement on others because of what we witness them doing or say. ex: We see or know of someone shacking! We see someone stealing, we hear someone cussing/swearing, we are unwilling to examine ourselves in lieu of judging others. Weve witnessed or heard of another who has committed a murder... No, no, no, we need to curve our own tongues, thoughts, and examine GODS values. HIS thoughts are not our thoughts. HIS bigger picture of our situations are not of our thoughts... hmmmmmm... We need to say those things which are a blessing as opposed to being a cursing. We need to be doers of the word as well Hearers of the WORD. Well my friends know that if we act like GOD would have us to, then the examination of ourselves would condemn ourselves to recognize we are them that stands in the need of prayer! If we cant keep a covenant with SEARS, GMAC, MORTGAGE co. etc. How can we be trusted to keep a covenant to GOD???Im preachin to myself right here........ We are the ones ourselves who need to Repent. Heres the answer to all our current situations. .WILL HEAVEN WAIT ON ME???..............Brothers and Sisters the time has come that we recognize that GOD promised he will Bless us but we can only receive these blessings when we get back in alignment with HIS WORD. Humble ourselves to recognize we are in need to CHANGE what doesnt seem to be working and rest on the truth of HIS WORD... (Matt 5:21-26) 21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill, and whomsoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgement: 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgement: and whosoever shall say to his brother , Ra ca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, (CHURCH FOLK PAYING TITHES!) and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee; ( argument,have wronged you, or you wronged them) 24 leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. 25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at anytime the adversary deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. 26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing; Let us not worry of the distractions in this life. Come unto GOD if you dont know him for the BIGGER PICTURE is to spend eternal life with him and not eternity in hell without.... If you are a true DISCIPLE (LEARNER,FOLLOWER of CHRIST) then you have just read that in this season it s calling for us to ( DISCIPLINE) Ourselves to GOD and believe by FAITH that although I m dealing with what I am, LORD I know the bigger picture means I will receive what you PROMISED to me , and even before to our Fathers Fathers.. It is my prayer that we all receive this word and start inward. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so remember if CHRIST be in you, then All that we shall be able to see in anything is BEAUTY. CHRIST is the way , the only way.... GOD Bless you in your walk.... AMEN Vision fulfills the purpose for which God has made me. VISION PROVIDES MOTIVATION.............. Youre motivated by vision. Proverbs 13:12 says, Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when dreams come true, there is life and joy. I love that verse. When dreams come true, there is life and joy. Show me somebody whos unmotivated, and whos heartsick and Ill show you a broken vision. Show me someone whos alive and joyful, and Ill show you someone whos living a life of vision. A clear vision, and the courage to follow that vision, dramatically increases your chances of getting to the end of your life and saying, I did it. I succeeded. I finished well. My life counted. Without a clear vision, youll probably get to the end of your life and wonder. You wont know whether youve really made a contribution or not. Youll wonder whether your life really mattered. One of the greatest tragedies of life is that so many people live without ever living out Gods vision for their lives. They get discouraged, distracted. They start to live their lives driven by money, by convenience, by other peoples opinions. They live their lives by default. They dont live their lives driven by Gods vision of what could be and should be. People and churches with vision are able to accomplish a lot more. Theyre able to accomplish Gods purpose.. A management professor stood in front of the group of high-powered overachievers he said, Okay, time for a quiz. Then he pulled out a one-gallon, wide-mouthed Mason jar , set it on a table in front of him. He placed into the jar a dozen fist-sized rocks one at a time. When the jar was filled to the top he asked, Is this jar full? Everyone said, Yes. He then pour out a bucket of gravel shook the jar causing pieces of gravel to work themselves down into the spaces between the big rocks. Then asked the group Is the jar full? By this time the class was a little wiser. Probably not, one of them answered. He then poured out a bucket of sand . All the sand went to spaces left between the rocks and the gravel. He asked the question again, Is this jar full? No! the class shouted. He poured a pitcher of water until the jar was filled. Then he asked, What is the point of this illustration ? One said, No matter how full your schedule is, you can always fit some more things into it! No , the speaker replied. The truth this illustration teaches us this: If you dont put the big rocks in first, you will never get everything inside at all. What are the big rocks in your life? What is it that matters most to you? PUT IN GOD FIRST AND THE REST WILL FOLLOW. PUT GOD SECOND, OR THIRD, GOD WILL NOT FIT ANYMORE AND WE WILL LATER FOUND OUT WE ALREADY HAVE A BROKEN JAR! AS WE FOLLOW GOD TOWARDS THE NEXT LEVEL, GOD IS SAYING TO US, “FOLLOW ME, AND ALL YOUR NEEDS SHALL FOLLOW YOU! WILL HEAVEN WAIT ON ME??? Jesus says that he has not come to establish just one more FRATERNITY OR WANNABE CHRISTIAN SO CALLED FELLOWSHIP GROUP...... We ought not to wish to imitate Christ, because this is superficial. We ought to enter into a deep relationship with God, and in this way we discover our best selves. If we bring out this best self, then we have become true brothers to Christ. We become members of the family of Christ by making God our father, and from this relationship, we become friends of humanity and respecters of the living world. why are you here? Every day we should ask are we living a lifestyle, characteristically by the authority, GOD given attributes and mindful of the abilities GRACE has supplied to give glorify God. Meaning, everything we are and do should reflect the image of God. For instance, a natural father feels glorified when his son tries to be like him. My dad was a soldier (USAF)and sometimes I would put on his beret, coat, medals and sometimes pants, although these dropped over me. He was pleased, as he often remarked to his friends. (LATER I FOLLOWED IN HIS FOOTSTEPS AND SERVED AS A MARINE) Thats the reason the very first chapter of the bible again said that we were created in the image of God. The only earthly creature to possesed that godly make up. Unfortunately, every human being lost this because of Adams disobedience and of course the bad part is, that we are destined for an unhappy eternity because of it. Not to worry, God made a simple plan that will give you back the image of God that was stolen from you. According to the 1 Cor. 15:45, Christ is referred to as the “Last Adam,” which links greatly with his resurrection, purpose and why every one needs to be born-again. It is recorded that Adam, the first man, was made a “living soul.” Adam was formed from the earth; that’s the life part of him. It wasn’t until God blew his spirit upon him that a soul was created or placed in Adam’s body. One would say our flesh is a coat for our soul and spirit. The earthly part of him was live or living, but when God blew upon him, he became ‘a-live’. He was what we call, born from above. Can You VISION this.... We are dead because of SIN but the MOMENT we REPENT... GOD breathes Life back into us where by we will be HIS ........... I believe we human beings have a perception problem. We often think we have the proper perspective on an issue when in fact we are way off. No man knoweth the day nor the hour... With that said...Tomorrow is too late...LIVE FOR GOD TODAY......I am Reminded of story of a CEO from Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company and while flying on the airplane he struck conversation with a man who told a story about himself: One day He and his wife were driving along an interstate highway when he noticed that their car was low on gas. Wheeler got off the highway at the next exit and soon found a rundown gas station with just one gas pump. He asked the lone attendant to fill the tank and check the oil; then went for a little walk around the station to stretch his legs. As he was returning to the car, he noticed that the attendant and his wife were engaged in an animated conversation. The conversation stopped as he paid the attendant. But as he was getting back into the car, he saw the attendant wave and heard him say, It was great talking to you. As they drove out of the station, Wheeler asked his wife if she knew the man. She readily admitted she did. They had gone to high school together and had dated steadily for about a year. Boy, were you lucky that I came along, bragged Wheeler. If you had married him, youd be the wife of a gas station attendant instead of the wife of a chief executive officer. My dear, replied his wife, if I had married him, hed be the chief executive officer and youd be the gas station attendant. Yes, we often think we have the proper perspective on an issue when in fact we are way off. Jesus understood this propensity for us humans to get it wrong. Especially when it comes to things spiritual. WILL HEAVEN WAIT ON YOU.....DO YOU HAVE THE TIME TO SEE....????? Father, I pray that as we begin to look at something to live for, I pray that you would begin to birth a vision within us. Help us to see our contribution to what could be and should be.
