SERIOUS BUSINESS/FEEDBACK REQUEST INCOMING! Hey guys, I’m gauging interest in a project I’ve been wanting to put together for a while now, I call it the Vidyagaem Book Club. Vidyagaem Book Club will be a monthly event where, kinda like a book club, we play a suggested game through the month and share our thoughts on it. Before I ask for your help I’ll explain what I’m planning in a bit more detail; The idea is that a game is chosen each month, and everybody plays that game over the month and discusses it with everyone else as they play through. The games can be from any platform, any age, and any genre, whether it’s a nostalgic classic, a largely ignored title that deserved a fair go, or just a damn good game you want everyone else to play. See this as a fun chance to play a game you’ve been meaning to play, introduce others to a game you love that others might not know about, and perhaps play a type of game you might never usually play. And then of course it’s a chance to do what this group is all about, talk about games! Through the month you can discuss the game’s gameplay, graphics, story, art direction, soundtrack, anything really! Share whatever thoughts you have with people who are playing the game alongside you. If you want to really get in-depth you can even take notes of your thoughts as you play the game, anything goes. Game suggestions are extremely welcome and the next ‘Game of the Month’ will be chosen based on keeping things varied (so nobody is left out) and making sure the games are easy to acquire (and on the cheap too). Now players don’t HAVE to play every game if they don’t want to, but I hope that everyone who joins in at least give each game a shot. The games will be month-by-month so everybody (even people short on free time as it is) can find enough time to hopefully at least put a good dint into the games and understand what they are all about. And one last thing, this isn’t intended to be a strict program, and it is not a race or a competitive event, it’s just a way for people share their love of games through trying new/old games and discussing them. So have fun already! So what do I need from you? Well, two things: 1) If I start this up would you be interested in joining the Vidyagaem Book Club? 2) What games would you like to see featured as Vidyagaem Book Club monthly games? (Remember, any genre, any platform, any age. Just make sure other people can get a copy the game within a month and try to keep it relatively cheap and cheerful :P) Fire away your responses, I’ll be taking notes! aaaaaaaaaand, go!
