SERIOUS ROAD CRASH – AYR Police are appealing for information after a woman was seriously injured following a road crash in Ayr on Friday 24 January 2014. Around 1725 hours yesterday evening, a 47 year old woman was struck by a northbound white Ford Transit van as she crossed the A713 Castlehill Road, Ayr. She was taken by ambulance to Ayr Hospital where she is presently detained. Hospital staff describe her condition as serious but stable. The 56 year old driver of the Transit van was not injured. The road was closed for approximately three and a half hours. Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact officers at Irvine Road Policing Unit via the Police Scotland non-emergency number 101.
