SERMON FOR SUNDAY, JULY 21st 2013 SPEAKER: REV. MAXWELL TSATSU THEME: THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION In continuation to his series of salvation messages for this special month of evangelism, Rev. Max preached on the above subject matter and remarked: how refreshing it is to note and acknowledge that we have been made worthy through Christ Jesus! As Christians, we really need to be abreast with the tenets of salvation in order not to be taken aback in our quest to win souls for Christ. We are spirits for God created us in His image and likeness. We did not evolve, but were duly created in the image of God. God is a spirit and if we were created in His likeness, then basic deductive analyses makes us also spirits. We are hence spirits that has a soul and lives in the body. The spirit has senses and therefore feels, sees, hears and thinks as was clearly depicted between the rich man in Hell and Lazarus in the bosom of Father Abraham. In effect even though they were both dead, they saw each other and scripture made us to understand that the rich man saw Lazarus in glory and pleaded for a drop of water as he was further dying of thirst due to the intense heat from the lake of fire. It is important to note that the body has no destination beyond this earth. Hence It is referred to as the mortal remains and the furthers it can go is the nearest cemetery which unfortunately has also been taken over by weeds. We are basically spirit having a soul and living in a body and as soon as the soul lives the body, sorry! You are but a cadaver. In view of the above, therefore, if you think that the real you is the body, then sorry! You are heading towards destruction. Why? Because your focus and attention will hence be in building and developing that structure that cannot go beyond this earth. When you see yourself as a spirit however, your life and thinking effectively changes. You focus on building your spirit man that would guarantee you eternity. Salvation is hence all about receiving a new spirit since our old spirit is a corrupted one that cannot communicate with that of God. When you are separated from God makes you spiritually dead and there is absolutely no way that you could ever communicate with Him and Invariably becomes a walking corpse. Salvation is the spirit of God reconciling with man, and it is free and without regards to colour or race. As Christians therefore, we must at all cost compel the lost to Christ. They are blind and those of us that through Christ has seen the light must never allow them to suffer perdition. As we evangelise therefore, we are invariably pleading with the world to come back to God through Christ which is indeed the Ministry of Reconciliation. God has His rules and regulations but we sinned against Him and thereby departed from His covering and protection. God however in His infinite mercy and love put structures in place for man to have eternal life and hence avoid perdition. This is indeed the basis of salvation. The Lord God almighty gave His only begotten son as a sacrifice in order for us to have eternal life. This is indeed the ministry of reconciliation where God is reconciling the world with Him through Christ Jesus. As you read this piece either on the notice board or on the internet, note that we have been mandated as Christians to let the lost know of this reconciliation and those that will believe shall be imputed with the righteousness of Christ. The ministry of reconciliation enables you to develop and build your spirit man through constant prayer and the desirous of the word which is spirit and life. By so doing, demons, afflictions and sickness shall flee from you, Rev. Max concluded.
