SERMON FOR SUNDAY, JUNE 9, 2013 SPEAKER: REV. MAXWELL TSATSU THEME: 7 METHODS FOR DEALING WITH DISLOYALTY Rev. Max again laid emphasis on the uncompromising stance for us as Christians to be loyal. He noted that faithfulness is very crucial in every facet of our human existence without which the fabric of society will be destroyed. The above theme is the chapter sixteen of the book ‘Leaders & Loyalty’ and one of the seven methods for dealing with disloyalty includes the teaching method. This is extremely important: for lack of knowledge we perish, the bible says. Hence teaching enable people to be abreast with the insidious nature and adverse consequences of disloyalty. You gain knowledge about the disastrous nature of disloyalty and this obviously will make you to be careful and proactive rather than reactive. Disloyalty gives birth in the mist of falsehood. Hence when people know the truth through teaching, there is no way that they will become disloyal. Another is the Nicolaitan Method. Hence if you discover by the grace of God someone whose action will bring distractive rather than growth, you have to hate that action rather than embrace it. The Nicolaitan method is a system where the church develops hatred and aversion for disloyalty and disloyal elements. It is a process where everybody has hatred for rebellion or any form of disloyalty. Disloyalty is hence a very bad phenomenon and elements of such a canker must be rejected with every alacrity. The North Wind Method is another means of controlling disloyalty. It is indeed a very powerful means of dealing with disloyal elements. Proverbs 25:23 stipulates: “The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue” Hence frowning your face sternly is an enough a weapon to put a disloyal and a slanderous tongue off. Abrahamic Method is another way. This basically involves taking proactive measures before a quarrel takes place, and it’s done to avoid the deadly effects of conflicts. After Abraham separated from his nephew in order to avoid any conflict as a result of the strife between his men and that of his nephews’, God blessed him beyond measure. There is therefore a blessing in separation before a feud. Another is the Casting out method. To cast out amongst other things is to throw away, expel and to eject. A scorner is one who makes fun of your religion or mocks the things of God. The bible entreats us to cast such people out. Psalm 1:1 amongst others stipulates: blessed is the man who does not sit on the seat of the scornful. Marking and avoiding is another powerful method for handling disloyalty. Hence you totally disassociate yourself from disloyal elements, keep them at arms length and under no condition must they be entertained, Rev. Max concluded. There was a communion service for the whole church to mark the end of the one week Prophetic Prayer and Fasting and the power, presence and manifestations of the Holy Spirit was just awesome if not inexplicable. There were instant healings and testimonies to the mighty glorification of God. Sister Gifty who was hunted by the spirit of death received instant deliverance by the power of the Holy Spirit. A brother who had lost his job for three years was invited by a sister and just after a day of the prayer and fasting, his former boss who vowed never to have anything thing to do with him again called him personally to resume work. Indeed we serve a living God and all honour and praise be to His mighty Holy name.
