SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT.... On Thursday, October 2, 2014 President Barack Obama publicly criticized Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House warning him not proceed on proposed settlements in a disputed part of east Jerusalem. The White House followed up by issuing a press statement on the topic of Israel settlements just hours after President Obama met with PM Netanyahu. The White House made the following statement, This development will only draw condemnation from the international community , and distance Israel from even its closest allies. (obviously referring to America) PM Netanyahu responded by stating, This isnt a settlement. These are neighorhoods in Jerusalem, the capitol of Israel. The fact is that President Obama is totally incorrect in stating that these are settlements. These are neighborhoods that will be occupied by both Jews and Arabs. The truth is the largest portion has been designated for Arabs. This is nothing new as these neighborhoods have been in the making for seven years. The fact is there was little issue over it until our present administration determined to make it one internationally. Isnt Israel a sovereign nation that operates on a democracy just like America? Doesnt this fact give every citizen, both Jew and Arab, the right to purchase land and property and live in peace regardless of nationality or religion? If so, then how does Washington even think they have the right to tell Jews that they have no right to purchase and ocupy specific neighborhoods in Israel simply because they are Jews. Is that not racial and religous discrimination? This would be no different than telling a person in America that they have no right to live in a certain town simply because of their race or religion. Washington is demanding Israel to do what is illegal in America. It is an unquestionable act of anti-Semitism. The fact is our present administration needs to stop defending the enemies of our ally and start standing with her. No country has the right to put demands on another sovereign nation. Praying for a change of heart in our leaders and a true stand with our ally Israel. As always I am sure negative attacks are coming my way. To some standing with Israel is political and should not be addressed by the church. To those of us who understand the bible it is not political but rather a biblical mandate and we will not be silent. Why? The bible tells us we are not allowed to. I have set watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth. Isiah 62:6,7 My concerns are not for the future of Israel as God has established a covenant with her. My concern is for the welfare of America or any other nation who opposes her, Genesis 12:3. Before you disagree with this comment and put politics before scripture, you might want to look at the social, economic, and spiritual condition of the nations who have opposed her. Its not good. If we continue in the present path America could be no different.
