SEVEN SUSPECTED MOTORBIKE-MUGGERS ARRESTED A victim of a motorbike mugging on the 26th, named Constance Webber, had her bag ripped away from her. At the scene of the incident, however, the perpetrators motorbike license plat fell off. Police responding to Ms. Webbers report used the plate as evidence, and rounded up seven young men (all teenagers) who were living/staying in the Monang-Maning area of West Denpasar (not far from Kerobokan). According to the police, the seven worked together to grab bags from people on motorbikes in the Kuta area. Their method was two guys on a bike, following their target, then at an opportune moment, jerking the handbag away and speeding off. [NOTE: This story is rather vague. Until further verifiable information comes in, its hard to gauge the veracity of this report. Based on the initials and names of at least two of the persons arrested, it could well be that at least some, or all of them are Balinese.]
