SEVENTH PART :---- LOVE ALL THE WAY ‘View’ clicked Parth and started reading the message which said, “I LOVE YOU PARTH. Yes I really do. No, don’t raise eyebrows, don’t get shocked. I don’t know when it happened but I have realised the intensity of my love off late. I guess it is impossible to figure out when we fall in love. Isn’t it? We don’t even realise when a person becomes our definition of life. The fact is that life seems incomplete without you. In fact life doesn’t seem life without you. I can write billion words in million days to describe my feelings for you but today I won’t say much though. I await your reply now and I hope whatever be your reply, it won’t affect our friendship. LOVE YOU LOTS. Parth couldn’t believe his luck. The best feeling for a boy in this world is when the girl he loves herself proposes him. “All my imaginations would be reality now. Paridhi loves me. Am I that lucky? Is this a dream? I should answer her now.”, he thought. He took out his ear-phone, pinned it in and dialled Paridhi’s number. Parth was on his way to cross the road when Paridhi received the call and heard in Parth’s voice, “I LOVE . . . . . . . .” BANG. . . SCREAMS . . . Paridhi heard traumatic voices and screams on the other side of the phone and then she heard, “. . YOU TOO.” “What happened? Are you alright?”, her voice choaked. “Parth, are you alright?” “Somebody call the AMBULANCE. He is bleeding pretty heavily.”, she heard a voice in the background and then finally she heard Parth’s voice. “No. No. No.”, he was panting for breath. “No, I am not .. . al. . right. I have been hit by a car and. . . . and I don’t know if I would be able to make it or not, if I would be able to meet you again or not. ” “No, we will meet. We will. I won’t let you escape anywhere without me.”, she said but sobbing had much to say then her words. Zoya was trying to console her but even GOD would have failed in doing so at that moment. Tears were making its way out of her eyes. Her epitome of love was fighting the ultimate battle of life and she was not beside him. “Stop. Stop Paridhi. Listen to me. I love you. I . . . . love you. Shristi has a diary. . My diary. . I. . I want . . .” Words were hardly getting out of Parth’s throat. “I want you to find Shristi and read the diary an . . and promise me one thing. . ” “No. First you promise you won’t go anywhere. You promise you won’t stop breathing. You promise that we will perform together on September 5. You promise you will accompany me in the journey of life. You promise you will hold my hands in every situation of my life. You promise. . ” “I wish I could.” A hell lot of blood had escaped his body and there were no signs of ambulance till then. Perhaps he had figured out that he won’t be able to accompany her in the journey of life. He continued, “Promise me you will find love in your life. Promise me you won’t hate love. Promise me you will become a professor. Promise me you will be happy.” “Tell me where are you? I am coming.” “No. No. . . .No. Listen, there is more to your life than Parth.” “But what is Paridhi without Parth?” These words of her made Parth burst into tears. Life seemed like a bed of roses few minutes ago when she proposed him and now. . . “Please don’t leave me like this. Take me with you. A body without soul may survive but Paridhi can’t without Parth.”, she sobbed with a lump in her throat and the white portion of her eyes had completely turned red till then. “You have to. For me. For your Parth.” Uttering even a single word was getting as tough as climbing the Mount Everest. Death was dominating the battle with life. And with love, of course. “For. . . .. . . ” SILENCE And SILENCE The brutal moment had arrived. It was over. Death had the last laugh. Paridhi sensed it too. She went numb. Her senses went numb. Her life went numb. Her soul went numb. ~ FEW DAYS LATER Paridhi was sitting at the Food-Corner in front of her school, reading Parth’s diary. Everyone could see her watery eyes but she seemed least bothered about it. Life or whatever it was, hadn’t been the same after that tragedy. She used to sit alone in the class. She used to talk less in the class. Her only friends now were Parth’s diary and his memories. The then, a little boy came there and said, “Bhaiya, please give me something to eat. I am quite hungry.”, and before shopkeeper could say something, “Give him whatever he wants to eat and bill me.”, said Paridhi. A tear escaped her eye and reached the diary. ~
