SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING now in effect for the entire Capital Region of NY (Albany area) and counties adjacent to Berkshire county. Large hail is occurring with this storm, and wind gusts up to 70mph are possible. No tornadic activity is seen, which is great. But wind damage from straight line winds out ahead of the squall line is possible, in terms of downed branches, and blowing of unsecured outside items. If the line retains its current strength we could see some scattered outages. Everyone has to make their own decisions, but Im choosing to unplug my computer from the wall outlet, as continuous cloud to ground lightning is also occurring with this line. Heres hoping it mellows out by the time it gets here, which again should be about 1am, give or take. Summertime rolls...
