SEVERE WEATHER ADVICE: Once again we have a strong cold front crossing the State. It is currently over western Port Philip and will cross the metropolitan area during the next 1 to 2 hours. Wind gusts to 110 km/hr are likely near the front with showers and thunderstorms possible near it and local hail. These wind gusts will again be capable of uprooting trees, dropping large branches, causing damage to roofs. Driving will be hazardous on exposed roads and in heavily treed areas. Dangerous wave conditions are likely on Port Philip and Western Port. Loose objects may be thrown around yards and off balconies. Conditions will ease late today or early tonight following the front. Be careful out there folks - spring is certainly living up to its windy reputation!
