SEVERE WEATHER WARNING for DAMAGING WINDS For people in the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, North West Pastoral and parts of the Lower South East and North East Pastoral districts. Issued at 9:56 am Monday, 30 September 2013. A vigorous cold front is moving over South Australia today with an associated strong to gale force northerly jet stream ahead of the front. The front is expected to be near Nullarbor late morning, then extend to central districts early evening and eastern districts late evening. Strong to gale force northerly winds averaging 55-65 km/h with damaging gusts of 90-120 km/h are possible. The West Coast and North West Pastoral districts and the higher ground of the Mt Lofty and Flinders Ranges are expected to be affected from late morning, then extending to remaining parts of the area during the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms with gusts of 90-120 km/h are also possible in the warning area. Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Cleve, Port Augusta, Renmark, Ceduna, Maitland, Murray Bridge, Roxby Downs and Leigh Creek.
