SF Ocean Beach Ice Bucket Hack for the Peoples Movement in Ferguson My name is Eric Mar and thanks to my friend Emily Hobson who tagged me Im doing the #IceBucketHack challenge to raise money to fight racism and police brutality and support the peoples movements in Ferguson. Im challenging a group of my friends Supervisor John Avalos and national elected officials in Local Progress, and local political organizers and leaders like Sunny Angulo and Jeremy Pollack to also do the ice bucket hack by making a video like this, donate $40 to the Organization for Black Struggle doing critically important work building grassroots Black working class power in Ferguson and then reaching out and tagging their friends. Alternatively they can skip the hack and donate $100 to OBS and reach out and tag people in their network. At my environmentalist daughters suggestion Im using salty water from Ocean Beach with a ice cubes from our fridge. Thanks to the creativity and love for our peoples movements of Chris Crass, Jen Soriano, Emily Hobson, Jaime Guitierrez and others and the parents and loved ones of Michael Brown, the Missions Alex Nieto, the Bayviews Kenneth Harding, Trayvon Martin and so many young people of color whose lives have been taken by racism and police violence.
