SGI Members Testmonial by Siddhartha Lahiri Good morning, My name is SIDDHARTHA LAHIRI. I am practicing this life philosophy for last 12 years. I am a software developer by profession. Being just a physics graduate, it was not easy to get a job in a software firm. Thus started my career in Patna with a meager salary. From the beginning I had a persistent financial problem with salaries getting delayed for months. At this point I felt I was not capable enough to support myself, leaving aside supporting my family. In spite of all the problems, I gave my best to the KOSEN RUFU activities in Patna. Finally in FEB 2004, I got a breakthrough with a job in a Software Firm in Delhi. However salaries were getting delayed here as well. The same year I was inducted to a special group called SOKAHAN. The SOKAHAN train to work behind the scene, protect the cultural centers and pray for protection and happiness of members. I had odd working hours, working as late as three in the night and even work over the weekends. Due to this I could not participate in activities and could feel the lack of life force and determination to challenge the situation. I took guidance from senior leaders. I was asked to chant abundant DAIMOKU for the growth of my company and wisdom to overcome any challenges so that I could have time to participate in meetings and study sensei’s guidance and GOSHO. For almost a year it was a rigorous struggle. Lots of time I had a strong desire to join a new firm where I presumed that the circumstances would be better but this would mean running out of current situation, thus I determined to fight and win where I am and report victory to sensei. More I challenged in the areas of practice and study, I found myself being more efficient at work, thus giving me more time to take part in activities and home visits. The year 2005, I was sent to South Africa for a big project. However the client was not happy with the delivery so far. This was a very big responsibility and I had very little international exposure. On top, being a shy person handling clients directly was next to impossible for me. As soon as I reached, I had to take all kinds of shouting from my client. Form the very first day I started praying for the happiness of my client. It was a completely new environment and initially small tasks like getting food and managing daily chores seemed a huge and difficult. Reading New Human Revolution I realized how sensei worked tirelessly to realize his mentor’s dream amidst all accusations. Reading the GOSHO “Dragon gate” I realized victory lies in continuing and perseverance. So instead of feeling bad about the client’s behavior and not willing to give up, I determined to work hard and become victorious in my current assignment, no matter what. I did abundant daimoku for the success of the project and the wisdom to find the right solution for the problems and deliver before time. During weekends met SGI members. I could participate in discussion meetings and in behind the scene activities. This charged me up bringing within me a fresh source of joy and determination to fight for the next week. I actively started interacting with the client giving new ideas. I overcame my fear and inhibition to manage the client all by myself and I could not only talk to the client fluently but fight back if something was wrong. Finally in august last year we completed the project. Our company gained three times the revenue which it had expected and earned the praise of the client which is the largest telecom company in South Africa. My company recognized my potential and promoted me to a lead position and finally last November I was awarded the best employee of the year with a bonus of considerable amount. I am happy to report that I have overcome my financial problems. My salary comes in time and all my previous dues are cleared. On top of that I have saved enough to take complete responsibility of my sister’s marriage which was unimaginable for me three years back. I have learnt, due to the struggles in faith and KOSEN RUFU activities, how to become a responsible son and a responsible employee. Within few days of my coming back, my firm decided to move its office to MANESAR, which is 50 kms from my house with no pickup and drop. Driving everyday on a bike was very hectic. It is only through KOSEN RUFU activities based on faith and study that I have been able to realize my hidden potentials and I would like to move on to become a better individual challenging different aspects of life. So I started praying for a job where the traveling time is less and provides pickup and drop so I can spend more time for activities. Finally a month back, I received and accepted a job offer from a reputed multinational in GURGAON. The package comes with 100% hike from my current salary and other benefits including pickup and drop. Today, In this year of advancement and victory, I determine to Strengthen my faith, practice and study and read sensei’s guidance first, as it comes, Raise capable leaders in my chapter and that each district of the chapter grows into independent chapters by May 3rd 2007 Base all my actions on DAIMOKU and report complete victory to Sensei.
