SHADOW AND REALITY: The history of the past is the shadow of the things to come. By looking into the shadow, we come to know the things of the future. Ecclesiastes 1:9-10 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there anything whereof it may be said, See, this is new? It hath been already of old time, which was before us. Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, my counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Genesis 1:2-3 LIGHT And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. John 1:5 And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. Daniel 3:1-6 IMAGE Then a herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: Revelation 13:15-16 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: Numbers 21:9 MOSES AND JESUS Deuteronomy 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; Acts 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. Exodus 2:5-10 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the rivers side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, this is one of the Hebrews children. Matthew 2:14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: The works of Moses are a shadow of those of Jesus Moses was born and he was in danger of being killed, likewise, Jesus was born, king Herod intended to kill Him. As Moses took refuge in Pharaoh’s Palace, so Jesus took refuge in Egypt. PASSOVER Exodus 12:5-6 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. Luke 23:14 Said unto them, ye have brought this man unto me, as one that pervets the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him: Luke 22:7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the Passover must be killed. John 2:13 And the Jews Passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Matthew 26:20 Now when the evening was come, he sat down with the twelve. Passive/Lord’s supper is taken once a year on the fourteenth day of the first month at even-sacred calendar. Taking the Lord’s Supper at lunch or any day is fulfilling the prophecy on Daniel 7:25. JESUS CHRIST CRUSIFIED ON THE CROSS And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: UNLEAVENED BREAD/ A FEAST LASTING SEVEN DAYS Exodus 12:18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even. Acts 12:3 When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread. Luke 24:30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. The suffering that the Israelites went through until they crossed the red sea represent Jesus’ suffering after the Passover. Today we are to participate in Christ suffering by fasting-Mark 2:20 BAPTISM John 3:23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. 1 Corinthians 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Baptism in original Greek word means immersion Baptism means burying the sinful life and resurrecting a born again Baptism by sprinkling of water on the head is Satan’s counterfeit. THE FEAST OF FIRST FRUITS/WAVE OFFERING Leviticus 23:10 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you and you reap its harvest, bring to the priest a sheaf of the first grain you harvest. Mark 16:5-6 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. Acts 1:3 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights. The day after the first Sabbath (the first Sunday following the feast of unleavened bread) The Israelites landing from the red sea represent Jesus’ resurrection from the tomb. THE FEAST OF WEEKS/PENTECOST Leviticus 23:15-16 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.
