* * * SHAKA NEEDS A RESCUE TO URGENTLY STEP UP FOR HER * * * ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ SHAKA (ID # A0988257) is a gorgeous dog who is at Staten Island Center, NY. Her previous owner had to, very reluctantly, give her up due to personal problems. He stated that she was a lovely, friendly, well-behaved dog and he was very sad to have to give her up. She became a shelter favorite and then was adopted and they all wished her well. Sadly though, the person who adopted her then returned her to the shelter claiming that she had bitten somebody. There was nothing whatsoever to back this up but, as a result, Shaka was put on DOH hold at the shelter. That hold is now up and Shaka needs MASSIVELY URGENT rescue because she could be killed at any moment. Unfortunately, due to that idiot former adopter claiming what they claimed, Shaka is now RESCUE ONLY and cannot be adopted direct from the shelter. Therefore, a rescue MUST step up for her otherwise she will be killed very soon. A shelter volunteer says of Shaka:- The name Shaka can be interpreted as meaning to chill or hang loose. This beautiful blue is well named. Shaka is three years old and came in to the shelter due to her owners personal problems. This pretty pittie acts as if she doesnt have a problem in the world! Shes so friendly, sweetly affectionate and loves to cuddle. Shakas coloring is striking..she has a beautiful gray and white coat and little white socks on her feet. She does have some skin allergies but they do nothing at all to detract from her beauty. Shaka would make any family proud..but, most of all she would make them very happy. Shaka is truly a wonderful pup. Make your own day, go see her..she is guaranteed to make you smile. Shakas behavior assessment results at the shelter also confirm what a great dog she is - friendly, happy, affectionate and she gets on well with other dogs.
