SHANDY update ..... 5 months later !!!! During July a resident of the suburb of Kilner Park in Pretoria saw a lady dump Shandy in a veld on a Sunday afternoon. Shandy jumped through the wooden fence and back into the vehicle. The woman again took Shandy and this time threw her as far as she could away from the vehicle into the long grass. The eyewitness immediately reversed her car and questioned the woman who said it was not her dog and she was not allowed to keep dogs where she had moved, etc. etc. The old, old story ... Denial!!! Shandy was in total shock and very traumatized. Wollies Animal Shelter got the call and immediately went to collect her and took her through to the vet for sterilization. Almost a month later Shandy was adopted by the most awesome couple ... Craig and Nicola from Johannesburg. Shandy now has a new best friend named Sharky and she has outgrown her fears and her anxieties with the unconditional love and caring given to her by her new daddy and mommy. From being dumped in the veld to sleeping on the bed with good food, love and attention .... What more can a rescue ever ask for. She has blessed her new familys lives as well with her great personality and with all the love she has to give. We are so very happy for this unwanted furkid and am grateful to this wonderful couple for taking Shandy (aka Sammy) under their wings and into their home. Craig and Nicola also blessed the Wollies rescues with a bootload full of food and goodies for Christmas. Thank you so much for your loyal support and for caring so much for those who cannot speak for themselves. Thank you as well to Madileen Jorissen for taking the food through to the shelter. There are SO many more like Shandy at the shelter who have been dumped, thrown out, rejected, etc. Why not adopt and let them bless your family just as Shandy has blessed hers.
