SHARE -- ISLAMIC STATE TARGETS MORE ARAMEAN CHRISTIANS IN IRAQ -- Earlier today, we noted that 1,000s of Yezidis escaped from the northwestern Iraqi town of Sinjar in the Nineveh province. However, 100s of Aramean Christian families from Sinjar were also attacked and pushed out of their ancestral homes. In fact, as can be seen on the photo, the IS terrorists have confiscated the local church and replaced its cross with their black flag in order to mark their victorious conquest -- a crime against humanity that is reminiscent of similar Islamic conquests in the last 14 centuries in numerous parts of the formerly Christian Middle East. Some of Sinjars refugees, who even have roots in Tur-Abdin and still speak the Aramaic dialect of Tur-Abdin, informed the World Council of Arameans (Syriacs) that last week they already sensed danger. After the shameless attack this Sunday, 3 August, traumatized Aramean eyewitnesses told us that they had seen 100s of dead bodies lying around in their hometown. While the families tried to escape their homes to get their freedom back, the IS cowards stole all their possessions. These inhuman cowards even took many defenseless girls and women as slaves! From the Aramean refugees we also learn that it is difficult to reach Arbil in the Kurdistan Region or Turkey. Most of the survivors are now scattered in mountains, towns and villages across the region. They are all in urgent need of protection and humanitarian aid. --------------------------------------------------------- The Obama-administration, the UN, the EU, the Arab/Muslim World all remain silent. DONATE NOW to the WCA to help us represent more often and more effectively the silenced voice of the embattled Christians of Syria and Iraq at parliaments and with the media.
