SHARING EXPERIMENT: WHAT DO PEOPLE HAVE IN COMMON WITH ONE ANOTHER? I belong to the Remonstrant Brotherhood Church Community, a liberal-progressive church in the Netherlands that finds its origin in the Dutch 17th Century tradition of reform and enlightenment. Recently, my church community released a video titled The Sharing Experiment. I invite you to take a look at the video (Dutch language, English subtitles). What you will see is random people that have been put together in a studio with the request to search for what they have in common, because, as they are informed, to do have something in common. The footage will show that every pair of people finds one or more topics in common. At the very end though, the director of the film revealed to the pair that in real, the only thing they had in common was that they crossed one another in the street - without noticing each other. The video might help you to assess the many things that you might have in common with most - maybe even all - other people around you.
