SHARKY GETS FOREVER HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!! Sharky spent Thanksgiving with his forever family. Dottie, Gordon and Snickers (former FPR foster brother ) welcomed him as a vacationing guest and he decided to stay! He charmed his way into their hearts and completed Dottie and Gordons poodle family. From matted to fabulous and now adopted, Sharky has come to the end of a long recovery and is ready to start the good life he deserves to live. FPR volunteer Natasha picked up Sharky from a local shelter last July. He was in extremely poor condition and no one really knew if he would make it. After a week at the vets facility, all of his teeth were removed and an artificial jaw bone was needed--as his gums were so diseased. He was eating eggs and oatmeal during recovery and he advanced to soft dog food and now eats dry food. He turned out to be fully house trained, slept in his bed with his quilt and has quite a spunky personality. Sharky makes toothless look good. He has a little swing to his step and lets not forget six cute toes on each of his hind legs. Dottie and Gordon are not only good friends but FPR supporters. We could not find a more perfect home for Sharky and he knows it. He now gets his morning breakfast with a garnish of Gordons homemade grits, along with lots of hugs, kisses, petting and love--which he deserves. Thank you to Sharkys family for all you have done for Sharky and Snickers. These two dogs are not only seniors but they are both special needs. It takes an extra special family to commit to the care of these babies. A special thanks to all the people involved in Sharkys rescue, to all of you near and far, in FPR and on Facebook who prayed for him and cheered him on all the way to his forever home. With gratitude and little tears of joy in her eyes, Sharkys foster mom sends him off to a great new life!
