SHE GAVE ME WHAT SHE DOESNT HAVE. She would wake me and I would sleep again.I could hear her voice calling me loudly,but I would pretend not to be hearing her.She never gave up.Id bath in a dish with warm water prepared by her.She did all these because of her love for education for her last born son. Like most of low grade learners,without a cent in my pocket,I would not go to school.She forced me to go there with a stick and I took it as a physical abuse,but today I see it as a super love.I would tell her about school trips,but her pockets had nothing. She kept on saying:Son,dont give up youll be something one day.I undermined the words as I had given all my attention to my daily hunger.I lacked clothes to church,but she made sure that I have full uniform,this was because of the love of education for her son. On the day of Matric results,she took her last R20 and said,son this is all I have go and get a newspaper.I had passed very very well,but I could see a mixture of happiness and sorrows in her heart. First year,no registration fee,she ran from pillar to post in search of that money.Through her love for education,I registered. *My mother gave me something that no one will take away from me,thats education.She has no it,but she chose to give it to me.Shes a freedom fighter for my education.I salute this woman.*
