SHE HAD MANY POTENTIAL ADOPTERS WHO JUST NEVER CAME BACK FOR HER So Caiti waits & waits for that one special person who will rescue her. Someone who will keep their promise to her & give her the best home possible. Someone who will love her till the end of her days. Caiti is a one yr old beautiful brindle girl, barely out of puppy-hood. The ACC has this to say about awesome Caiti: She interacted with everyone including volunteers wonderfully. As per our staff, she is very obedient, a little on shy side when she first meets you but warms up very quickly....She was friendly but appeared anxious in the evaluation room, focused on exiting the door. Caiti was a bit tense during handling but remained very tolerable of the assessors touch. Caiti also showed no food, toy or rawhide aggression during her behavior evaluation. So if youre an experienced dog owner who can monitor her behavior around other dogs, please give Caiti a chance. Its just a matter of time before she catches a cold and ends up on the kill list. Click on her picture now & get help in saving her. Dont wait until its too late. https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=737522906260591&set=a.617941078218775.1073741869.152876678058553&type=3&theater Staten Island Center CAITI - A0988878 FEMALE, BR BRINDLE, PIT BULL MIX, 1 yr STRAY - STRAY WAIT, NO HOLD Reason STRAY Intake condition NONE Intake Date 01/05/2014, From NY 10310, DueOut Date 01/08/2014, Medical Behavior Evaluation BLUE Medical Summary SCAN NEGATIVE BRIGHT, ALERT, RESPONSIVE, HYDRATED PHYSICAL EXAM- EARS CLEAN EYES AND NOSE CLEAR TEETH WHITE AND CLEAN NO FLEAS/FLEA DIRT ABD NSF H/L WNL FEMALE TENSE AND NERVOUS DURING EXQAM, HANDLEABLE Weight 52.4 A Volunteer Writes: Twelve month old Caiti wound up in the shelters care after she was found wandering around Staten Island. She was not claimed by her former owners and she has been in the adoptions room at the SI Center waiting for a new family ever since. Caiti is absolutely gorgeous and sports a cocoa brindle coat with white accents. Her face is exquisite and accented with gorgeous eyes and floppy ears. She is beautifully built and has been well taken care of. Shes friendly with people after she has a few minutes to warm up and makes charming company. While Caiti has had quite a few people inquire about adopting her, nothing has panned out for her as of yet. Caiti is at the very beginning of her life and while shes hit a bump in the road it doesnt have to be permanent. There is a home out there for this beautiful young dog....Caiti, more than anyone, is patiently waiting for it to be found. Caiti had so many potential adopters that just never came back to adopt her. She interacted with everyone including volunteers wonderfully. As per our staff, she is very obedient, a little on shy side when she first meets you but warms up very quickly Caiti pulled on the leash during her relief walk. She was friendly but appeared anxious in the evaluation room, focused on exiting the door. Caiti was a bit tense during handling but remained very tolerable of the assessors touch. She was calm while eating and did not interfere when the assessor reached in to move or take back the bowl, indicating no food guarding concerns. Caiti took the rawhide to chew on but allowed the assessor to take it right back indicating no concerns for possession aggression, but when she rushed in toward the helper dog, she appeared aroused with her head and tail up and hair going pylo erect. Caiti may need an experienced adopter to manage her behavior towards some animals. Look: 2 Dog pulls out of Assessors hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2 Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Squeeze 1: 2 Dog quickly pulls back paw. Squeeze 2: 2 Dog quickly pulls back paw. Food: 1 Dog calmly allows the food to be moved, follows the dish, but does not interfere with the dishs movement. Dogs body is soft and loose, eyes soft, tail neutral. She lifts her head when hand is pushed against her cheek. Toy: 1 No interest. Rawhide: 1 Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish rawhide to you. Dog-to-dog: 3 Dog approaches the helper dog by rushing in with her tail high, stiff body, head tall, and ears erect.
