SHINGLES ---You will hear people say, I have the shingles well folks this is no joke- the Shingles can cause someone to feel like they are going completely crazy due to the severe pain and itching that accompanies them- ----I have been meaning to POST this for a LONG TIME but for one reason or another I always FORGET! -- Over the years many of my family members and CLOSE friends have SUFFERED from the SHINGLES.... a Viral Infection caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox- After a person has had chickenpox, the virus lies dormant in the nervous system. Years later, that virus can be reactivated by STRESS, IMMUNE DEFICIENCY, or DISEASE and will cause SHINGLES!! Symptoms of shingles start w/tingling, PAIN, neuralgia, or itching of an area of skin and it will become visually OBVIOUS as red blisters form in that same area along nerve path, forming a red-band on the skin. Blisters most commonly appear wrapping from the MIDDLE of the back to the middle of the chest BUT can form on the neck, face, and scalp as well. Another name for SHINGLES is herpes zoster!! --Since this disease has interrupted so many of my family members lives over the past few years (& they are medically unable to be vaccinated against it) I decided to start searching for ways to EASE the pain and shorten the length of time for their break-outs! I was able to find several different ways to treat the Shingles......one method is by using an Essential Oils recipe.................Blend 1: Combine 10 drops lavender, 10 drops melaleuca, and 10 drops thyme with 1 Tbs. Fractionated coconut oil. (T): Dilute as recommended, and apply 1-2 drops on location. Add 5-10 drops essential oil to 1Tbs. fractionated coconut oil, and massage on location and on bottoms of feet!! --The next thing we have found that works is a wonderful skin-care product by Rhonda Allison: Drop of Essence (not only good for shingles but also for burns and psoriasis and GREAT facial moisture serum)!! The last thing I found that works WONDERFUL but calls for a prescription from your Doctor: LYRICA!!! I am sure there are many more remedies for Shingles but these are just a few that my family has found effective:) I honestly feel for those who are dealing with or have dealt the shingles!!
