SHINSO SHIMABUKU,SECOND SON OF MASTER SHIMABUKU TATSUO.Some folks nicknamed him Ciso.He was most active prior to 1961 while he was in High School.Him and Tokumura Kensho also a Student in School were very dedicated to training in the Agena Dojo with Master Shimabuku Tatsuo.As more and more Marines started to train in Isshin-Ryu Karate,the Master started to have Tokumura and Ciso help train the Marines.Many toward their Black Belts while they were still wearing White Belts. After 1961,Ciso was involved in Academics,getting his credentials to be a School Teacher.His Karate time was limited,however in 1969,he friended Carl Sutherlin,Walt Van Gilson and Bob Bremer.They all spent a lot of time learning about Okinawa and exploring the Caves in the Mountains. I believe,in the 80s while in School as a Teacher.He was pushed from behind down the Staircase and was severely injured { Brain Injury }.It got so bad that he could not teach any more and was sent home on Disability. Anyway,because of his early history of training many Marines prior to 1961 and his support to his father Master Shimabuku Tatsuo.He was recognized in the Isshin-Ryu Hall Of Fame in 2009.He was a Guest in my house from 1961-1990 many,many times when his Father and his older Brother would visit with Yasuko and I.He was a very likeable individual that kept a low profile,very Humble.He passed away around five years ago.
