SHORTHANDED GINEBRA STILL LOOKING FOR BIG MAN HELP, SAYS COACH ATO AGUSTIN I HOPE SOON JAPETH WILL JOIN THE GAME#MALAKING TULONG SI JAPETH SA GINEBRA#LETS PRAY NA MAGING OK NA SI JAPETH AT MAPAAGA ANG JOIN NIYA SA TEAM GINEBRA# #CREDIT - NUKI SABIO Despite winning against Air 21 on Wednesday, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is still looking for big men who can shore up the team’s frontcourt. “Sa ngayong pinag-uusapan na talaga, kailangan kumuha kami ng big man,” said Gin Kings coach Ato Agustin shortly after his team’s 106-93 victory. Signing Eric Menk, who last saw action for San Miguel Beer in the PBA, is an option, according to Agustin. “May nabanggit, nasa amin talaga yung rights ni Eric Menk eh,” said Agustin, adding that a big concern is the conditioning of the former Most Valuable Player. “Wala daw siyang practice, two months daw siyang walang basketball.” The prospect of Asi Taulava suiting up for the Gin Kings is also complicated by the fact that Meralco owns the rights to the big man. “Medyo malabo kasi may involved na trade yun eh,” said Agustin. “Wala pa kaming napag-uusapan with the management, siyempre sila yung nakakaalam diyan.” A pair of Ginebra forwards, Kerby Raymundo and Japeth Aguilar are still nursing ailments. Agustin said Raymundo is set to make his return. “Definitely susubukan niyang maglaro by next week,” said Agustin. Aguilar, who hurt his knee against Barako Bull, is hoping to come back ahead of schedule. “Si Japeth nag-usap din kami sabi four weeks. Pero gusto niyang maglaro. Baka third week, kung kaya niya,” said Agustin. “Under therapy siya. Right now therapy muna siya.” admin yolly
