SHOULD WE EARNESTLY STUDY THE BOOK OF REVELATION NOW? . Please pray for my experiment in having a Revelation Sabbath School - Its starting in a back room in the church basement – pray that it will grow and move into a larger space where I can display slides - pray that our churches will realize our great need - Jesus says that we “say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” Revelation 3:17. [I have used capital letters for emphasis in face book – not being sure of a better way. – if you have one (like bold) let me know how to do it on face book] . Do we believe Jesus? Jesus tells His chosen people of this last generation “be zealous and repent.” Do we really believe we must “be zealous and repent?” Think about it. People want to be respected, to be “COOL.” To be respected we certainly don’t want to be thought of as “zealous.” No we naturally want to be part of the “COOL” generation. . What does the word “ZEALOUS” mean? The dictionary says, that zealous means, “showing strong and energetic support for a person, cause.” Synonyms are single words that describe .a particular word. Here are some of the synonyms for “zealous” - enthusiastic, eager, fervid, fervent, intense, and passionate. How would someone describe your religious experience and outreach? Would they describe you as a zealous Christian, an eager Christian, and a passionate Christian? . The opposite of the word “Zealous” is Apathetic which means “not having or showing much emotion or interest.” “Having or showing little or no feeling or emotion.” Here are some of the synonyms for the word “Apathetic.” They are spiritless, indifferent, uninterested, unconcerned, bored. How would someone describe your religious experience and outreach? Would they describe you as a spiritless Christian? Would they describe you as an indifferent Christian? - An uninterested Christian? - An unconcerned Christian - a bored Christian? Are you bored with Christianity but still attend church once a week? Or are you a “zealous” Christian and love to pass out tracts and books and talk to others about your love for Jesus. Be honest with yourself. Your eternal life is at stake! If you are an apathetic, spiritless, indifferent, uninterested, unconcerned, and, or, bored Christian perhaps it is time to ask Jesus for the gift of repentance and zeal. . amazingfacts.org/news-and-features/inside-report/id/849/the-mystery-of-revelation.aspx . God’s Word tells us that repentance is a gift! “Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.” Acts 5:31. So ask Jesus for the gift of “repentance” and the gift of “zealousness.” E. G. White writes, “Repentance is as certainly a gift of Jesus Christ as is forgiveness of sins. Repentance cannot be experienced without Christ, for it is the repentance of which He is the author that is the ground upon which we may apply for pardon.” {That I May Know Him, page 109.3} PRAY FOR THE GIFT OF REPENTANCE. . Repentance includes sorrow for sin and a turning away from it. We shall not renounce sin unless we see its sinfulness; until we turn away from it in heart, there will be no real change in the life. {Steps to Christ, page 23.2} God is speaking to your heart telling you that He love you and wants to save you to be with Him throughout eternity. He is calling us, telling us that the only way He can save us is by turning us into dedicated zealous living Christians. He wants to turn us from our “apathy and indifference.” Ask Him, right now to give you His wonderful gift of “repentance and zeal” “Jesus has said, ’I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.’ John 12:32. Christ must be revealed to the sinner as the Saviour dying for the sins of the world; and as we behold the Lamb of God upon the cross of Calvary, the mystery of redemption begins to unfold to our minds and the goodness of God leads us to repentance. {Steps to Christ, page 26. . Jesus loves you and tells you and me that He is sick of indifference and “lukewarm” Christianity. He says, “Because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” Revelation 3:16. We don’t want Jesus to feel sick when He sees our lack of zeal, our apathy, our coolness, our Spiritless indifference, our uninterested unconcern, our boredom. . Our greatest need is for the Holy Spirit that only comes to those who come to Him again and again with the “continual coming” and “cry out day and night to Him” for repentance, zeal and the Holy Spirit. He wants you to zealously ask Him for His Holy Spirit with the same determination as the widow in Christ’s story in Luke 18:1-8 or of the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15:21-28. . E.G. White in her book Acts of the Apostles writes, “Since this is the means by which we are to receive power, why do we not hunger and thirst for the gift of the Spirit? Why do we not talk of it, pray for it, and preach concerning it? The Lord is more willing to give the Holy Spirit to those who serve Him than parents are to give good gifts to their children. For the daily baptism of the Spirit every worker should offer his petition to God.” Acts of the Apostles, page 50. . REVELATION IS BORING! – WE KNOW ALL THAT STUFF ALREADY! . I spoke with another Christian at a wedding recently who asked “How many people are coming to your Revelation Sabbath School? I had to admit that very few were coming. My Christian friend said “Don’t you think the reason is that they believe they already know it all?” And I agree that that is probably the reason – plus it is located in a back room in the basement. . Is it true that we already know the books of Daniel and Revelation and don’t need to study them anymore? I have seen this belief in the lives of many professed Christians and in the lives of many pastors. They seem to say, “We know all that stuff now let’s get on with preaching the Bible.” And my question is – Do you mean “preach the Bible” like the other denominations who have not been called to teach God’s last message to the world? Are we ashamed of our message? Are we ashamed of the gift we have been given in the Spirit of Prophecy? We should preach from the Bible knowing that Satan hates the books of Daniel and Revelation which reveal His last day deceptions. He hates God’s law and he hates the Spirit of Prophecy which God says will be manifest in His last church. God tells us, “The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to MAKE WAR WITH THE REMNANT of her seed, WHICH KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, AND HAVE THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST.” “And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY” . What does “the Spirit of Prophecy” say about our knowledge of the books of Daniel and Revelation? . “WE ARE ONLY BABES AS FAR AS UNDERSTANDING” “REVELATION” “The Message to Present.--Our lesson for the present time is, how may we most clearly comprehend and present the gospel that Christ came in person to present to John on the Isle of Patmos, -- the gospel that is termed the REVELATION of Jesus Christ? We are to present to our people a clear explanation of Revelation. . . . Although we have in trust the grandest and most important truth ever presented to the world, WE ARE ONLY BABES, as far as understanding truth in all its bearings is concerned. Christ is the great teacher, and that which he revealed to john, we are to tax our minds to understand and clearly to define. We are facing the most important issues that men have ever been called upon to meet.” {Counsels to Writers, page 29.2} . If that is true and our lay people and our ministers are “only babes, as far as understanding” the book of Revelation “as far as understanding truth in all its bearings is concerned” we are told “to tax our minds to understand” . . . “the most important issues that men have ever been called upon to meet.” Could it be that we have fooled ourselves and are completely unprepared for what will soon break upon our world as an “overwhelming surprise?” “Christians should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise, and this preparation they should make by diligently studying the word of God and striving to conform their lives to its precepts. The tremendous issues of eternity demand of us something besides an imaginary religion, a religion of words and forms, where truth is kept in the outer court. God calls for a revival and a reformation.” Prophets and Kings, page 626. . HOW TO BEGIN A GREAT REVIVAL. . E.G. White writes about the need to study the prophetic book of Revelation in the book Testimony to Ministers -- “Let us give more time to the study of the Bible. We do not understand the word as we should. The book of Revelation . . . When we as a people understand what this book means to us, there will be seen among us A GREAT REVIVAL. We do not understand fully the lessons that it teaches, notwithstanding the injunction given us to search and study it.” {Testimony to Ministers, page 113 and paragraph 2}. . And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. Matthew 10:18. The time is not far off when the people of God will be called upon to give their testimony before the rulers of the earth. Not one in twenty has a realization of what rapid strides we are making toward the great crisis in our history. . . . There is no time for vanity, for trifling, for engaging the mind in unimportant matters. {Maranatha, page 253} . Kings, governors, and great men will hear of you through the reports of those who are at enmity with you, and your faith and character will be misrepresented before them. But those who are falsely accused will have an opportunity to appear in the presence of their accusers to answer for themselves. They will have the privilege of bringing the light before those who are called the great men of the earth, and if you have studied the Bible, if you are ready to give an answer to every man that asketh you of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear, your enemies will not be able to gainsay your wisdom. {Maranatha, page 253} . You now have an opportunity to attain to the greatest intellectual power through the study of the Word of God. But if you are indolent, and fail to dig deep in the mines of truth, you will not be ready for the crisis that is soon to come upon us. O THAT YOU WOULD REALIZE THAT EACH MOMENT IS GOLDEN. If you live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God, you will not be found unprepared. {Maranatha, page 253} . MANY WILL FIND OUTTHAT THEY ONLY HAD A “SUPERFICIAL UNDERSTANDING OF REVELATION . You know not where you may be called upon to give your witness of truth. Many will have to stand in the legislative courts; some will have to stand before kings and before the learned of the earth, to answer for their faith. THOSE WHO HAVE ONLY A SUPERFICIAL UNDERSTANDING OF TRUTH will not be able clearly to expound the Scriptures, and give definite reasons for their faith. They WILL BECOME CONFUSED, and will not be workmen that need not to be ashamed. Let no one imagine that he has no need to study, because he is not to preach in the sacred desk. You know not what God may require of you. {Maranatha, page 253} . “Revelation means that something of importance is revealed.” {Testimony to Ministers, page 113.3} . “When the books of Daniel and Revelation are better understood, BELIEVERS WILL HAVE AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE.” {Testimony to Ministers, page 114.3} . “The Lord will bless all who will seek humbly and meekly to understand that which is revealed in the Revelation. This book contains so much that is large with immortality and full of glory that ALL WHO READ AND SEARCH IT EARNESTLY RECEIVE THE BLESSING to those ’that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein.’ {Testimony to Ministers, page 114.4} . “The solemn messages that have been given in their order in the Revelation are to occupy the FIRST PLACE in the minds of Gods people. NOTHING ELSE IS TO BE ALLOWED TO ENGROSS OUR ATTENTION.” 8 Testimonies, page 302.1} . ”Precious time is rapidly passing, and there is danger that many will be robbed of the time which should be given to the proclamation of the messages that God has sent to a fallen world.” . “THE THIRD ANGELS MESSAGE IS TO BE GIVEN WITH POWER. The power of the proclamation of the first and second messages is to be intensified in the third.” {Vol. 6 Testimonies, page 60.1} . “DWELL MORE ON THE REVELATION. Read, explain, and enforce its teaching.” {Vol. 6 Testimonies, page 61.1} . “Our warfare is aggressive . . . THE PRESENT TRUTH IS TO BE OUR BURDEN. The third angels message must do its work of separating from the churches a people who will take their stand on the platform of eternal truth.” {Vol. 6 Testimonies, page 61.2} . “OUR MESSAGE IS A LIFE-AND-DEATH MESSAGE, and we must let it appear as it is, the great power of God. We are to present it in all its telling force. Then the Lord will make it effectual. It is our privilege to expect large things, even the demonstration of the Spirit of God. This is the power that will convict and convert the soul.” {Vol. 6 Testimonies, page 61.3} . “The perils of the last days are upon us, and in our work we are to warn the people of the danger they are in. LET NOT THE SOLEMN SCENES WHICH PROPHECY HAS REVEALED BE LEFT UNTOUCHED. If our people were half awake, if they realized the nearness of the events portrayed in the Revelation, a reformation would be wrought in our churches, and many more would believe the message. We have no time to lose; God calls upon us to watch for souls as they that must give an account . . . LET DANIEL SPEAK, LET THE REVELATION SPEAK, and tell what is truth. But whatever phase of the subject is presented, uplift Jesus as the center of all hope, ‘the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright and morning Star.’ Revelation 22:16.” {Vol. 6 Testimonies, page 61.4} . “THERE SHOULD BE A CLOSER AND MORE DILIGENT STUDY OF THE REVELATION, and a more earnest presentation of the truths it contains--truths which concern all who are living in these last days.”--Manuscript 105, 1902. Evangelism, page 197. “As a people, WE SHOULD BE EARNEST STUDENTS OF PROPHECY; we should not rest until WE BECOME INTELLIGENT IN REGARD TO THE SUBJECT OF THE SANCTUARY, which is brought out in the visions of Daniel and John. {Evangelism, page 222.3} . ¬ THE PROPHECIES RELATING TO THE LAST DAYS ESPECIALLY DEMAND OUR STUDY. The last book of the New Testament scriptures is full of truth that we need to understand. SATAN HAS BLINDED THE MINDS of many, so that they have been glad of any excuse for not making the revelation their study . . . Revelation 1:3. {Christ Object Lessons, page 133.2} . This is life eternal, Christ said, that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent. John 17:3. Why is it that we do not realize the value of this knowledge? WHY ARE NOT THESE GLORIOUS TRUTHS GLOWING IN OUR HEARTS, TREMBLING UPON OUR LIPS, AND PERVADING OUR WHOLE BEING? {Christ Object Lessons, page 133.3} “BE ZEALOUS AND REPENT” Revelation 3:19. . EACH FRESH SEARCH will reveal something more deeply interesting than has yet been unfolded. THE SUBJECT IS INEXHAUSTIBLE. THE STUDY of the incarnation of Christ, his atoning sacrifice and mediatorial work, WILL EMPLOY THE MIND OF THE DILIGENT STUDENT AS LONG AS TIME SHALL LAST; and looking to heaven with its unnumbered years he will exclaim, Great is the mystery of godliness. {Christ Object Lessons, page 133.4} . “WE ARE TO PRESENT TO OUR PEOPLE A CLEAR EXPLANATION OF REVELATION. We are to give them the word of God just as it is, with as few of our own explanations as possible. No one mind can do this work alone. Although we have in trust the grandest and most important truth ever presented to the world, WE ARE ONLY BABES, AS FAR AS UNDERSTANDING TRUTH IN ALL ITS BEARINGS IS CONCERNED. Christ is the great teacher, and that which he revealed to john, WE ARE TO TAX OUR MINDS TO UNDERSTAND and clearly to define. We are facing the most important issues that men have ever been called upon to meet.” {Counsels to Writers, page 29.2} . “THE THEME OF GREATEST IMPORTANCE IS THE THIRD ANGELS MESSAGE, embracing the messages of the first and second angels. All should understand the truths contained in these messages and demonstrate them in daily life, for THIS IS ESSENTIAL TO SALVATION. WE SHALL HAVE TO STUDY EARNESTLY, PRAYERFULLY, IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND THESE GRAND TRUTHS.”--Letter 97, 1902. {Counsels to Writers, page 29.3} . “The minds of men were fixed, sealed against the entrance of light, because they had decided it was a dangerous error {Counsels to Writers, page 30.1} . “Now at the present time God designs a new and fresh impetus shall be given to His work . . . THAT WHICH IS FOOD TO THE CHURCHES IS REGARDED AS DANGEROUS, AND SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN THEM.” Manuscript 13, 1889.” {Counsels to Writers, page 31.1} . “At this time--the last days of this earths history--WE ARE TO MAKE THE BOOK OF REVELATION A SPECIAL STUDY. WHY? BECAUSE IT DEPICTS THE SCENES THAT WE ARE TO MEET.” {The Upward Look, page 152.2} . There are those today who call the REVELATION a sealed book. [It is a mystery,] but it is a mystery unfolded. WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IT TELLS US in regard to the scenes that are to take place in the last days of this earths history. {The Upward Look, page 152.4} . Do you wonder that I have something to say, when I see the pillars of our faith beginning to be moved? Seductive theories are being taught in such a way that we shall not recognize them unless we have clear spiritual discernment.--Manuscript 46, May 18, 1904, The Foundation of Our Faith, a talk given at Berrien Springs, Michigan. {The Upward Look, page 152.6} . LET ALL READ CAREFULLY THE THIRTEENTH CHAPTER OF REVELATION, for it concerns every human agent, great and small. Every human being must take sides, either for the true and living god, who has given to the world the memorial of creation in the seventh-day Sabbath, or for a false Sabbath, {3 Selected Messages, page 424.1} . (2) The most translated American author that ever live, E.G. White wrote, “WHEN THE BOOKS OF DANIEL AND REVELATION ARE BETTER UNDERSTOOD, BELIEVERS WILL HAVE AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE. The Lord will bless all who will seek humbly and meekly to understand that which is revealed in the Revelation.” Read Revelation in connection with Daniel. Teach these things.” (Testimony to Ministers, page 114} . (3) “As we near the close of this worlds history, THE PROPHECIES RELATING TO THE LAST DAYS ESPECIALLY DEMAND OUR STUDY. The last book of the New Testament scriptures is full of truth that we need to understand. That is not what I say that came from the author of Steps to Christ which is translated into over 150 languages and has a current circulation of over 100,000,000 copies. Could Satan have blinded my eyes and your eyes? Could he have blinded the minds of ministers as well? Pray that God will open any minds that Satan has blinded. . “SATAN INVENTS UNNUMBERED SCHEMES TO OCCUPY OUR MINDS, THAT THEY MAY NOT DWELL UPON THE VERY WORK WITH WHICH WE OUGHT TO BE BEST ACQUAINTED. The archdeceiver hates the great truths that bring to view an atoning sacrifice and an all-powerful mediator. He knows that with him everything depends on his diverting minds from Jesus and His truth.” {The Great Controversy, page 488.1} . “Those who would share the benefits of the Saviours mediation should permit nothing to interfere with their duty to perfect holiness in the fear of God. The precious hours, instead of being given to pleasure, to display, or to gain seeking, should be devoted to an earnest, prayerful study of the word of truth. THE SUBJECT OF THE SANCTUARY AND THE INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT SHOULD BE CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD BY THE PEOPLE OF GOD. All need a knowledge for themselves of the position and work of their great high priest. Otherwise it will be impossible for them to exercise the faith which is essential at this time or to occupy the position which God designs them to fill. Every individual has a soul to save or to lose. Each has a case pending at the bar of God. Each must meet the great judge face to face. HOW IMPORTANT, THEN, THAT EVERY MIND CONTEMPLATE OFTEN THE SOLEMN SCENE WHEN THE JUDGMENT SHALL SIT AND THE BOOKS SHALL BE OPENED, WHEN, WITH DANIEL, EVERY INDIVIDUAL MUST STAND IN HIS LOT, AT THE END OF THE DAYS.” {The Great Controversy, page 488.2} . “All who have received the light upon these subjects are to bear testimony of the great truths which God has committed to them. The sanctuary in heaven is the very center of Christs work in behalf of men. It concerns every soul living upon the earth. It opens to view the plan of redemption, bringing us down to the very close of time and revealing the triumphant issue of the contest between righteousness and sin. It is of the utmost importance that all should thoroughly investigate these subjects and be able to give an answer to everyone that asketh them a reason of the hope that is in them.” {The Great Controversy, page 488.3} . THE INTERCESSION OF CHRIST IN MANS BEHALF IN THE SANCTUARY ABOVE IS AS ESSENTIAL TO THE PLAN OF SALVATION AS WAS HIS DEATH UPON THE CROSS. BY His death He began that work which after His resurrection He ascended to complete in heaven. WE MUST BY FAITH ENTER WITHIN THE VEIL, whither the forerunner is for us entered. Hebrews 6:20. There the light from the cross of Calvary is reflected. {The Great Controversy, page 489.1} . “The great plan of redemption, as revealed in the closing work of these last days, should receive close examination. The scenes connected with the sanctuary above should make such an impression upon the minds and hearts of all that they may be able to impress others. All need to become more intelligent in regard to the work of the atonement, which is going on in the sanctuary above. When this grand truth is seen and understood, those who hold it will work in harmony with Christ to prepare a people to stand in the great day of God, and their efforts will be successful. By study, contemplation, and prayer Gods people will be elevated above common, earthly thoughts and feelings, and will be brought into harmony with Christ and His great work of cleansing the sanctuary above from the sins of the people. Their faith will go with Him into the sanctuary, and the worshipers on earth will be carefully reviewing their lives and comparing their characters with the great standard of righteousness. They will see their own defects; they will also see that they must have the aid of the Spirit of God if they would become qualified for the great and solemn work for this time which is laid upon Gods ambassadors.” {Vol. 5 Testimonies, page 575.1} . “We are in the great Day of Atonement, and the sacred work of Christ for the people of God that is going on at the present time in the heavenly sanctuary should be our constant study. . “If our ministers realized how soon the inhabitants of the world are to be arraigned before the judgment seat of God, to answer for the deeds done in the body, how earnestly they would work together with God to present the truth! How untiringly they would labor to advance Gods cause in the world, proclaiming in word and deed: ‘The end of all things is at hand.’ 1 Peter 4:7.” {Vol. 9 Testimonies, page 149.1} . Prepare to meet thy God is the message we are everywhere to proclaim. The trumpet is to give a certain sound. Clearly and distinctly the warning is to ring out: Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen. . . . Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Revelation 18:2-4. The words of this scripture are to be fulfilled. Soon the last test is to come to all the inhabitants of the earth. At that time prompt decisions will be made. Those who have been convicted under the presentation of the word will range themselves under the blood-stained banner of Prince Immanuel. They will see and understand as never before they have missed many opportunities for doing the good they ought to have done. They will realize that they have not worked as zealously as they should, to seek and save the lost, to snatch them, as it were, out of the fire. {Vol. 9 Testimonies, page 149.2} . Our work has been marked out for us by our heavenly Father. We are to take our Bibles and go forth to warn the world. We are to be Gods helping hands in saving souls--channels through which His love is day by day to flow to the perishing. The realization of the great work in which he has the privilege of taking part, ennobles and sanctifies the true worker. He is filled with the faith that works by love and purifies the soul. Nothing is drudgery to the one who submits to the will of God. Doing it unto the Lord is a thought that throws a charm over whatever work God gives him to do. {Vol. 9 Testimonies, page 150.3} . Carry on all your work on strictly religious principles. Let your earnest inquiry be: What can I do to please the Master? Visit places where the believers need encouragement and help. At every step ask: Is this the way of the Lord? Am I, in spirit, in word, in action, in harmony with His will? If you labor for God with an eye single to His glory, your work will bear the divine mold, and you will be carrying out the Lords purposes. {Vol. 9 Testimonies, page 150.4} . In your study of the word of God, penetrate deeper and still deeper beneath the surface. Lay hold by faith on divine power and sound the depths of inspiration. . In the last great conflict of the controversy with Satan those who are loyal to God will see every earthly support cut off. Because they refuse to break His law in obedience to earthly powers, they will be forbidden to buy or sell. It will finally be decreed that they shall be put to death. See Revelation 13:11-17. But to the obedient is given the promise, HE SHALL DWELL ON HIGH: HIS PLACE OF DEFENSE SHALL BE THE MUNITIONS OF ROCKS: BREAD SHALL BE GIVEN HIM; HIS WATERS SHALL BE SURE. ISAIAH 33:16. BY THIS PROMISE THE CHILDREN OF GOD WILL LIVE. WHEN THE EARTH SHALL BE WASTED WITH FAMINE, THEY SHALL BE FED. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. Psalm 37:19. To that time of distress the prophet Habakkuk looked forward, and his words express the faith of the church: Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3:17, 18. {The Desire of Ages, page 121.3} . In our own strength it is impossible for us to deny the clamors of our fallen nature. . . And HOW THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED, CHRIST HAS SHOWN US. BY WHAT MEANS DID HE OVERCOME IN THE CONFLICT WITH SATAN? By the word of God. Only by the word could He resist temptation. It is written, He said. Psalm 119:11; 17:4. {The Desire of Ages, page 123.4} . THE SAME POWER THAT CHRIST EXERCISED WHEN HE WALKED VISIBLY AMONG MEN IS IN HIS WORD. It was by His word that Jesus healed disease and cast out demons; by His word He stilled the sea and raised the dead, and the people bore witness that His word was with power. He spoke the word of God, as He had spoken to all the prophets and teachers of the Old Testament. The whole Bible is a manifestation of Christ. {Ministry of Healing, page 122.1} . So with all THE PROMISES OF GODS WORD. IN THEM HE IS SPEAKING TO US INDIVIDUALLY, speaking as directly as if we could listen to His voice. It is IN THESE PROMISES THAT CHRIST COMMUNICATES TO US HIS GRACE AND POWER. They are leaves from that tree which is for the healing of the nations. Revelation 22:2. Received, assimilated, they are to be the strength of the character, the inspiration and sustenance of the life. NOTHING ELSE CAN HAVE SUCH HEALING POWER. Nothing besides can impart the courage and faith which give vital energy to the whole being. {Ministry of Healing, page 122.3} PRAY THIS PRAYER “Father forgive me for my “lukewarmness” and based don Your promise, “ask and it will be given” (Matthew 7:7) I ask You to give me three gifts – (1) Please give me Your Holy Spirit to lead me to repentance, to repent of my indifference to the great truths You are seeking to teach me from the books of Daniel and Revelation (In connection with the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). (2) Please give me the gift of Repentance that I may turn from everything that consumes the “golden moments” you want me to use learning more and teaching more. (3) Put loving zeal in my heart that I might with joy share Jesus with everyone I can. NOW –Believe God has heard your prayer – come back often each day with the “continual coming” Jesus spoke of in Luke 18:1-8 and God will hear and answer you every day and one day soon Jesus will come and then you will realize that a wonderful thing happened when you prayed that pray and continued to pray that prayer daily. You will forever be thankful that Jesus filled you with His Holy Spirit, the gift of repentance and zeal. And you will see many many people you have brought to Jesus and eternal, everlasting life. You will be like the paralyzed person who Peter told “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
