SHOUT OUT IT TAKES 2 TO MAKE A CREW!!!!! Thanks for sharing.. Yesterday, I was conducting a train on the Union Pacific Angleton Sub. I work for BNSF. My engineer has been a railroader since 1973, and is an outstanding engineer. The sun was rising in our eyes, we were tired and we had been on duty for 11 hours. We were bringing an empty 112 car hopper from Corpus Christi to Houston. We passed a yellow approach signal and we were approaching an intermediate signal. Once the signal was in view, I observed it was red (on U.P. rail you may pass a red intermediate at restricted speed). I noticed that we were going rather fast. I asked the engineer if he planned on proceeding past the red signal. His reply was, I plan on proceeding past that yellow signal. I asked, Am I seeing things? My engineer responded, Shit. He began setting air. We rolled past the signal at restricted speed. My engineer turned to me and, with the utmost sincerity, said, Thanks for doing your job. A TRAIN NEEDS A CONDUCTOR!
