SHTA 19-07-2014 Big changes in store The Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association (SHTA) has been whipped into a frenzy of activity since its new board was elected in May. Meeting five times in the space of two months, the organisation says it’s taking steps to remain a “relevant force” in today’s tourism climate. Speaking to TODAY, SHTA’s new Executive Director, Kate Carolus says the organisation has a “new spirit of dynamism… and it is infectious”. This has translated into a lot of new positive and constructive engagements developing, she says. One step the organisation is taking to revamp itself is finding new headquarters to call home. Currently located in room 39 on the second floor of OJ Mall, SHTA is looking for premises that will make it “more accessible to members” and allow it to offer “business services”, according to a communique. SHTA has also started to rethink its communications strategy and the role of its website, which it wants to be more “dynamic”. As such, the site will be redesigned to turn it into a communal platform, where members can share and contribute ideas, as well as celebrate their successes, it says.
