SIGN OF THE TIMES A man called my office today to inquire whether I handled penile implant medical malpractice cases. The message on my spindle went like this. Apparently the implant itself performs just as it is supposed to. It is NOT the implant that is the problem. The man wanted to sue the surgeon because even though the man can now conjure up a Louisville Slugger at will, he has absolutely no desire to use it in the big game. None! And he blames the doctor because the implant wasnt the aphrodisiac that the man fantasized that it would be. True story. He can now get it up , but just DOESNT CARE!! And he has concluded that his lack of interest is his DOCTORS FAULT! I suppose the man might have a point if he was MARRIED to the doctor who performed the implant. (That was NOT part of my note). Absent this remote possibility, I see his claim to be similar to an amputee who is fitted for a prosthetic leg but is unhappy because, even with the new leg, he still has no desire to get up off of his butt and walk on it. Medical malpractice? I dont think so! I had my secretary call the man back to explain that this type of case required the special touch of a legal professional who is much more skilled and experienced than I in this growing but sensitive area of the law. I directed her to give the man the name and number of a lawyer friend of mine across the river and told her to stress to the man that my friend possesses just the eunuch abilities that this case demands. My friend does a lot of criminal law too. Maybe he can turn this into a penal implant case. A lawyer giving up a case? Who would ever have thought? I must be loosing MY desire! Guess Ill have to sue SOMEBODY ! I think the worlds just gone crazy! This is just one more sign of the times that we live in.
