Paul LePage has issued a written promise that he will sign LD 718 into law when the Legislature reconvenes in January. Read this story if you need a reminder of how our system is supposed to work. On April 23, more than 200 people took the time to attend a rally at the Maine State House to confirm that the people want to know what is in their food. Almost 100 signed up to testify in support of LD 718, Maines Right to Know GMO Labeling bill, before the Legislatures Joint Standing Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (ACF). They want the same rights that more than half the world’s people, in 62 other countries, have.
