SIMBU FILM MAKER, Mc POLLY KOIMA ENTERS THE FILM INDUSTRY WITH GRACE . Film making has not, progressed, since Albert Toro last made the Wokabout blong Ton Ton Grace, the latest, locally made film, by Koima as its one man producer, director and script writer, is set to make waves, as it depicts the contemporary PNG society, caught in its plight of transition from a closed society to an open and modern society with norms, values and a culture, which is different from our traditions. Grace attempts to address all the cross cutting issues, that tipify a society transforming itself in wink of the eye from a subsistence to a cash economy, with the usual anguish of uncertainity and confusion, with characters viewing the scenario through different spectacles. The theme of the film is about PNG as a changing society suffering a clash of ideology and culture, with emphasis on gender inequality, and violence against the female gender that is unpalatable. Grace is bound to entertaining and thought provoking, that will generate great interest locally and internationaly. It is now on the big screen in Paradise Cinemas in Port Moresby, and will move to Simbu on christmas eve.
