SIMPLE MINDED CHRISTIANS. Let me begin by saying that it takes an intelligent mind to understand simple things. For instance, how does one argue a case? All arguments begin with presuppositions but not all presuppositions are to be desired equally. The “method” used to argue a point can lead to truth whereas the presupposition which depends upon “content” already assumes a body of truth and fails before it starts. John W. Montgomery states that no historian has a right to a closed system of causation. For the critical thinker all things are possible, what we see before us may have been caused by something unexpected. For instance, the origin of all that exists springing from an uncreated creator of all things created. Just a thought. If you are a Muslim and reject the idea that God cannot beget, you will not accept the word of God. Those who are convinced that God is not personal will reject the word of God as well because it goes beyond their realm of acceptance. The same goes for those who rule out the supernatural. Then we have those who feel that God cannot communicate His undistorted word through corrupt men. All are pretext for rejecting the possibility of a truth. The silly idea that Christians make a blind leap into the dark is rooted in the writing of that Danish puff tart Soren Kierkegaard, widely considered to be the first existentialist philosopher. Being blind himself he could not see the light Christians were drawn to. Existentialists see themselves as as free agents swallowed up by a deterministic and seemingly meaningless universe. Have a nice trip. If you plow through history you turn up all kinds of fools. Hume, who said historic evidence is invalid because one cannot establish “absolute truth.” He was absolutely sure of that. When seeking to establish fact we must rely upon probability, there is no other option. We know that Abraham Lincoln existed because we have eye witness testimonies to that fact bolstered by documents and historic events. Ditto for Jesus. There are three main reasons people reject Jesus. Ignorance, Pride or Moral problems. These are walls too high for some to scale. Get over it.
