Just because you have known him or her from childhood or your mothers womb doesnt make him or her perfect for you Befriend those who will make You burn more for the Lord. Relationship is supposed bring you closer to the Lord not away from him. Love is a Choice If you ask most people what love is, they will tell you that its a feeling or emotion. We certainly do describe what we feel for people as love, but true, biblical love is isnt about the way we feel. The Bible says to choose love. That means love is a choice. Its the choice to treat others according to Gods Word rather than according to what we feel because lets face it, we dont always feel like being loving. Its easy to love the people who love you back. Its easy to be patient and kind to people who are patient and kind to you. But, what about the people who are frustrating and irritating? What about the people who constantly rub you the wrong way or dont ever seem to do things the way you want them to? I call these people sandpaper people. This is when you need to make the choice to love. God isnt going to give you a pass and say, Oh, dont worry about loving them; they irritate me, too. No, God is love. Love is God. When we choose love, we are choosing God and His ways. If God says to show love, that means its possible. He wouldnt ask you do something that you couldnt. Butsometimes, we have to love by faith. See, you dont need faith for the things you have. You need faith for the things you dont have. If you dont have love for someone, you can show love by faith. You can do what it says in first Corinthians 13 and be patient and kind and believe for the best in others. The fastest way to change your feelings is to change your actions! I love what it says in Colossians 3:12-14, we are to put on tender mercies, kindness, humility ,meekness longsuffering. We are to bear with one another—especially those sandpaper people—and we are to forgive one another. But then it says, Above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. Love is what holds us together and binds us to Christ. Just as you chose what to wear today, you can choose how to treat people. You can choose love. Remember, those people who are difficult to love are the ones who need it the most. Love is a choice, choose Love.
