SIR ALEX FERGUSON HE REFUSE TO GIVE PAUL POGBA 40,000 PER WEEK, NOW MAN UNITED THEY WANT HIM BACK FOR £60M ! Manchester United have been quoted £60m if they want to persevere with plans to bring Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford two years after his acrimonious departure on a free transfer. There are a few reasons why he left, Cleverley doesnt really factor into it. All the problems revolved around Pogba believing he was ready to be in Uniteds first team, and Fergie treating him like he was just another youth team player. But from what has been said about the situation, it really factors down to 3 things. 1. Michael Carrick was injured, Paul Scholes was retired, and United were in desperate need of a defensive midfielder. Paul Pogba went in to see Fergie and asked to play him in their next game in the Carling Cup. Fergie said hed consider it, but played Rafael as a central midfielder instead. 2. With Pogbas contract running out, United wanted him to sign a new contract, but Pogba didnt want to sign unless hed get regular game time. Fergie told him he will do, but that wasnt good enough for Pogba, who wants a statement of intent. Namely, a 40k a week contract, which United refused to do, and from then on Fergie decided he didnt like Pogba because he thought he had too much ego. 3. With contract negotiations between Pogba and United being difficult. Pogbas favourite team as a child, Juventus, offer him an opportunity to come play for them, with Antonio Conte saying he has big plans for him to be part of their first team. And there it is. Fergie wouldnt play him. Pogba played hard ball. Fergie didnt like him. Conte did like him. And he moved to Juventus. Simple as that.
