SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS OF PERPETUAL ADORATION On November 10, 2013, our foudress, MOTHER MARIA THERESIA BONZEL, was beatified at the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Paderborn, Germany raising her among the BLESSED in heaven. We are so grateful to GOD for this great blessing! Below are some pieces of information about the Cathedral at Paderborn: Welcome to the Cathedral Visitors approaching Paderborn will be greeted by the sight of the towering spire of the Cathedral from far a field. Positioned right in the center of Paderborn, this major Mother Church of our Archdiocese just cannot be missed. Hundreds of years ago, devout Christians built the Cathedral in honor of GOD and as a house of worship and for festive Church services. Due to fires and the catastrophes of war, this Church had to be rebuilt and renewed on several occasions and to date it still requires constant maintenance and due care and attention. The open gates of the high Cathedral and Peter, the Disciple, who is positioned among the circle of Saints in the Paradise Porch, invite the visitors withe the words: Come to Jesus Christ, the living stone, who was condemned by the people, but chosen and honored by GOD. Let yourselves be built up as the living stones of a spiritual house... (1 Peter:2,4,5). The Cathedral is a house of GOD, not a museum. It invites you to stay for a while and enjoy its peace and tranquility and pray and, in its services, a prayer will be spoken for you too, every day. The Metropolitan Chapter extends a hearty welcome to everybody, who comes to visit our Cathedral. May all visitors experience this Bishops Church of Paderborn in its glory and open their hearts for the precious treasures it contains; and not least of all, it is a messenger of Jesus Christs happy message, of which this holy venue is a witness.
