SITUATION UPDATE of Thursday, June 6th 2013 Supreme Court (SC) asked Chairman of the Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi to give clarification in writing within 15 days as why latter should not resign as the post of chief justice as demanded by the petitioner. CPN-M, Federal Democratic Forum , Federal Socialist Party Nepal have agreed to launch a joint agitation against the four party political syndicate and Khil Raj Regmi –led government. In the Mid-West region, along the Lamahi-Ghorahi- Tulsipur, Kohalpur- Nepalgunj and Nepalgunj- Gulariya road sections are closed due to continuing protest programmes imposed by the Struggle Committee for the elimination of Kamalahri Tradition. In Far-Western Region; Kanchanpur, Kailali districts highway and roads are closed due to the protest programme imposed by the Struggle Committee of elimination of Kamalahri Tradition. ONGOING and UPCOMING 6th June - The Struggle Committee for elimination of Kamlari Tradition has been staging a protest demonstration in front of Singha Durbar 6th June - the United Struggle Committee for the elimination of Kamalahri Tradition has continued a 22 Terai districts Bandh for the fourth consecutive day today. Effect: The bandh has been observed effective mainly in Terai districts Mid-Western region (Banke, Bardiya, Dang) and Far-Western region (Kanchanpur, Kailali) with no public and private vehicles being able to travel. Talks between government and agitating group yesterday ended inconclusive and further talks have been scheduled for 4pm today. All Nepal Revolutionary Trade Union, sister wings of CPN-M has called two days all industry from Sunsari-Morang industrial area bandh on 6th and 7th June demanding increment of salary to labours.
