SITUATION UPDATE on Monday, July 1st 2013 Vice- Chairman of Unified CPN-Maoist Baburam Bhattarai resigned from the post of party’s vice-chairman on Saturday. After his decision to resign, UCPN-Maoist has called a plenum for 19th July 2013 to seek a solution to the new crisis. The Central Committee (CC) meeting of CPN-Maoist (Mohan Baidya) is conducting in Pokhara since Saturday where leaders are commenting on five different internal documents with numbers of agendas including to boycott upcoming CA poll and prepare for peoples revolt. Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred 20 Chief District Officers (CDOs) to various 20 districts across the country. Road obstructions have been reported in various places of Darchula district including Pasti to Dhap and Dattu to Khalanga-DHQ and along the Dadeldhura-Darchula road sector due to landslides and floods in the district. Ferry service has been halted at Arun River of Legwaghat of Dhankuta district and at Sunkohsi River in Ghurmi of Udayapur district due to the increase in water level after heavy rainfall.
