SIX CHRISTINA SCHOOLS RECOGNIZED FOR POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT PROGRAMS Six Christina elementary schools have been recognized by the University of Delaware’s Center for Disabilities Studies Positive Behavior Support Project for three phases of the School-wide PBS (SWPBS) Program Implementation. Schools at Phase 1 have a strong foundation with key components in place. In addition to these foundational components, schools at Phase 2 have systems to sustain their program and implement strategies to promote social-emotional learning and develop self-discipline. At Phase 3, schools also demonstrate effective systems for supporting at-risk students, such as utilization of a problem solving team and targeted interventions for students. At all phases, demonstrating how their SWPBS team uses data for planning is critical. Phase 1 recipients receive a certificate and blue ribbon for display and Phase 2 and 3 recipients receive a certificate and banner for display. All six schools will be recognized at the November 18 Board of Education meeting. Congratulations to the following schools: Phase 1 - School-wide PBS Leasure Elementary School McVey Elementary School Smith Elementary School Phase 2 - Advanced School-wide PBS Marshall Elementary Phase 3 - Establishing Tier 2: Problem Solving Team Gallaher Elementary School Keene Elementary School
