SIZE MATTERS. BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER. When it comes to taking a cruise, I think smaller ships are a better choice because they are more personal, safer, and not as prone to the disasters that we have been hearing about recently. I have only been on one cruise and it was on a smaller ship with a capacity of 1000 passengers and the ship was only 3 stories tall. Now, there are cruise ships with up to 15 stories that can transport 50,000+ passengers. Yes, the big ships will have some amenities that the smaller ships will not have and vice versa. I question the ability of any cruise ship to safely evacuate large numbers of people safely. If you want the amenities offered on the larger ships, perhaps a land vacation at a resort hotel is a better option. You can always book a single day or a two to three day cruise in conjunction with a resort vacation. Personal safety, food safety, and enjoyment levels, I think, are decreased when you are traveling on the megaships.
