SKELETAL REMAINS LOCATED OFF S.R. 16 SUNDAY AFTERNOON 29 December 2014 Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit are investigating the location of skeletal remains which were located in a wooded area Sunday afternoon off S.R. 16. Deputies initially responded to the 1700 block of S.R. 16 where a 15-year old juvenile located human remains in the wood line near a pond. The juvenile told deputies that he was walking along the ditch looking for fishing bait when he discovered the remains and notified the Sheriff’s Office. Detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation. There were no obvious signs of foul play and the remains were taken to the District Medical Examiner for further investigation and for positive identification. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
