SKUSA (S4) - THE STREAK IS OVER - KING FINALLY BEATS SCHILLING AND DEMANDS A SUPERNATS DRIVE In 2008, Ken Schilling and Alex King battled each other for the S4-Heavy title of the SKUSA PKC California; whereas the Brazilian was labeled as the villain for attempting to gain a competitive advantage over his title rival, by launching psychological war tactics via the internet. However, the American star proved his resilience and ultimately clinched the title that year. The Brazilian Superstar however, never accepted defeat; instead, noted to everyone 23 legitimate excuses (according to him) for failing to clinch the title that year. But Schilling continued to have the upper hand against the arrogant Brazilian, as the American went on to beat King once again at the PKC championship round at Calspeed Kart Track in 2009. The two would not compete against each other until last year. At another PKC championship round - this time at Willow Springs - not only King was beaten by Schilling, but the overall feeling was that the Brazilian was simply spanked as he was outpaced by Schilling in all sessions - qualifying, both heats and main event. This time, King did not present 23 legitimate excuses for his defeat - but he did firmly believe to have had 17 legitimate excuses. The next time King and Schilling met was at the SKUSA PKC California season opener this year - at Buttonwillow. Schilling demonstrated superiority over King as he out qualified the Brazilian. With Schilling forced to start at the very back - penalized for taking Logan out of heat one - King appeared set to finally beat his 2008 title rival after almost 6 years. However, a loosed wheel forced King to retire in the first lap - and he was beaten by Schilling once again! The two finally competed against each other this past weekend at Lake Elsinore - and this time - the gods above us gave King the right to beat Schilling. But it was not guaranteed! In qualifying, King out qualified Schilling by 0.809. But in the first heat, Schilling actually beat King as King was taken out at turn one of lap one and Schilling later retired at lap 6. As faith has brought Schilling and King together many times before, they started heat two together towards the back, in 14th and 15th, respectively. King would then beat Schilling in the second heat - finishing in 8th, while Schilling finished in 14th. And in the main event, King finished 8th again with personal fastest lap time of 46.722, while Schilling finished last in 16th with personal fastest lap time of 47.974. Following the event, the Brazilian Superstar surprised many by uniquely demonstrating humble demeanor and downplaying his victory over Schilling, as the MRC factory pilot shifted his focus on the big prize - SKUSA SuperNationals. I dont see a big deal in beating him (Schilling) as I know I am faster, just as I know I am faster than Logan and Kidd and Musgrsve and Elliott and many more. I know Schilling. I like him and wish him well. And I know he will bounce back and have better days ahead just like I might have some bad days and many brilliant days ahead in my career. But the important thing to note here is that Schilling did make to SuperSunday at the SuperNationals last year. So if I defeated him today, I am definitely ready for the SuperNationals this year. So I dont care if MRC has sold 90 TonyKarts this year and is expanding their business by 422% this year - MRC needs to make some room or whatever arrangements to take me there. Following my performsnce today, I will demand this out of them.
