SLIIT hosted the 4th National Conference on Technology and Management (4th NCTM) on the 16th December, 2014 at the main auditorium, SLIIT Malabe Campus under the conference theme “Advances in Technology & management for National Development”. Senior Professor Sohan Weerasekara of University of Moratuwa and Senior Professor Opatha Herath of University of Sri Jayawardenepura delivered keynote speeches on “Management Research” and “Research projects and their significance” respectively while Professor Terrence Perera, Assistant Dean, Materials and Engineering Research Institute, Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) – UK delivered his keynote on Emerging Research in Logistics and Supply Management. All researchers who submitted their papers received more than two peer review reports which can be employed to enhance their research work in the future. These proceedings of NCTM consisted 41 research articles which were selected from 150 submissions. At the end of the conference the best paper awards were given as follows. Best Paper- GOLD AWARD A Fully Functional Shopping Mall Application - SHOPPING EYE Presented by K.M.D.M. Karunarathna, H.M.D.A. Weerasingha, M.M Rumy, M.M Rajapaksha, N.Kodagoda and D.I De Silva Best Paper- SILVER AWARD Enterprise Tracking Service Provider Presented by Sanuri.D.Gunawardena, Lahiru.K.Kurukulasuriya, Charmy.Y.Weerakoon, D.D.Chamath, M. Chandrasiri and Malitha N. Wijesundara Best Paper- BRONZE AWARD Low Cost Optical Power Meter and Bandwidth Analyser with Wide Dynamic Range Presented by Yasantha C. Samarawickram and Rohana P. Thilakumara SLIIT organized 4th NCTM in collaboration with IFS as principal industry sponsor and Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) – UK as principal academic sponsor. The National Science Foundation sponsored the publication of the event’s proceedings.
