SLPP Young Generation Leader Aims High By Hassan Juana Koroma The former Bo District, Young Generation Leader, Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Musa Peter Moiguah has declared his intention to contest for the National Young Generation Leader position in the forthcoming August 2013 National Delegates’ Conference. The out gone Young Generation Leader made the declaration during a handing over ceremony of office to his successor, Foday Abdulai last Sunday at the party’s Regional Head Office, 24 Fenton Road in Bo. Addressing party members and the press, Musa Moiguah thanked God Almighty for his wonderful provision and guidance and to the party membership for their support over the years. Before his declaration of intent, he handed over to his successor, Foday Abdulai one desktop computer, one motor bike, one conference table, one office table, four chairs and a cheque of one million and two hundred thousand Leones accounting for his stewardship. The hopeful National Young Generation Leader said he is running for the position to advocate on behalf and help address the problems affecting young people within the party. He called on the party executive and all members to redouble their efforts in maintaining peace within the party and above all, to be more tolerant. According to Musa Moiguah, he has honestly served the party and people of the Southern Region for over a decade. He called on the membership for continued support and vote him as National Young Generation Leader in the forthcoming National delegates conference. Earlier, in his welcome address the Regional Young Generation Leader, Abdul Wahab Rogers who chaired the ceremony thanked members present from across the country particularly party members from other districts including Kenema in the East, Tonkolili in the North and the Western Area for attending what he referred to as one family meeting. Mr. Rogers described the ceremony as a family gathering where pertinent issues relating to the development of the party were discussed. Declaring his personal support for Musa Moiguah, the Deputy Regional Chairman, Mohamed Blake described him as a devoted and honest party member, determined to unify the youths and move the party forward. Alfonzo Komeh, SLPP Chairman Kenema District, Melvin Rogers, Regional Secretary South and Foday Abdulai, Young Generation Leader Bo District were among those that lavished praises on Musa Moiguah and declared their total support for him. Meanwhile the traditional rites requesting support and to allow Musa Moiguah to contest the five man race from the Eastern Region by Alex Bonafa formed high point of the ceremony.
