SLRTA ENDS A DAY SYMPOSIUM The Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority (SLRTA) Kenema Brach has over the weekend held one day symposium at the regional head quarter office of the Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority (SLRTA) Blama road Kenema in the eastern republic of Sierra Leone. Delivery his opening remarks the Regional supervisor of the Traffic Warden under the Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority (SLRTA) eastern region Victor M. Cobba welcome and thank all for answering his called in attending the programme. He said he has organize this symposium to talk to members of the Sierra Leone Commercial Motor Bike Riders Union, Drivers Union, Traffic Police, consumer Protection, passengers welfare and members of the Fourth estate to address this bodies about the safe use of the road now that the festive season is coming. Supervisor Victor M. Cobba reiterated that since has transferred as the supervisor in the eastern region he has notice that the road usual in Kenema are not making any good use of the road as this has being the cause in the increase of accident rate in Kenema and that he is of the opinion that after the symposium many bike riders, drivers, and the road usual will now know how to use the road. In his statement the district chairman of the Sierra Leone Commercial Motor Bike renters association (BRA) Patrick Brima Mando said that Kenema city has be getting supervisor since the establishment of Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority (SLRTA) and the traffic warden ranging from Abu Ticket and other of which their behavior and respond some Bike owners and riders, people were not registrar their bikes and vehicles which created low income for the Government of Sierra Leone. Patrick Brima Mando reiterated that since the transferred of Victor M. Cobba as supervisor the traffic warden under the Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority (SLRTA) things have charge in Kenema city and its environs. Adding that supervisor Victor M. Cobba have been very instrumental in the life of bike riders, drivers and even the ordinary road usually by using the local radio stations in Kenema sensitizing them on the use of the road, traffic offences and about the using of the roads. He which the coming of supervisor Victor M. Cobba, bike riders, divers and owners are now registering the their bikes and vehicles and that creating more income for the government of sierra Leone and called on the authorities of the Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority (SLRTA) to always maintain hard working people within the institution as their work will bring more income. A representative of the driver Union chairman said that the supervisor is a soba minded and disciplined man when it comes to his job business and dedicated and called the authorities of Kenema to stop districting the man when his is on his operation. Batilo Vandi said as traffic police their duty is to protect life and property and thank the supervisor for organizing such a symposium which have never happen in Kenema since the establishment of the Traffic Warden.
