SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by MARSHA BURNS The Surrender of Stubbornness While we were worshiping the Lord in song service, I saw a spiritual flow of water entering a person through their mouth. It passed through the person until it reached the heart area, where there was a large, dark blockage. The flow had nowhere to go except back out of the person. The blockage prevented the Spirit of God and His anointing from filling the person to overflowing. Then I heard the word “obstinate” and saw a donkey sitting on its haunches. “Obstinate” is defined as stubbornly adhering to one’s purpose or opinion; not yielding to persuasion or entreaty; inflexible persistence or an unyielding attitude. “Beloved, there are places in your heart where you are behaving like a donkey, for you are stubbornly holding onto a position of agreement with the evil one. Your agreement with him sets you in complete opposition to My Spirit and anointing. This is not good for you! Now is the time to acknowledge this sin and turn from this rebellious position to Me. Yield to what is true, just, right, pure, and holy. It needn’t be a struggle. Simply surrender. The choice is yours, and My grace will meet you when you choose what is good.” Psalm 32:8-10 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding, which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, else they will not come near you.
