SMARTPHONE vs NOT SO SMARTPHONE Whenever people ask me why are you not using a smartphone, I will always tell them Smart people dont need a smartphone. It was really meant to be a joke but now I realize it was really a very smart answer. What really made me started thinking was when both my kids Samsung SII and SIII which I was supposed to inherit have the same problem, CANNOT CHARGE. (They got upgraded to iphone). My darling husband immediately dragged me to Switch insisting to get me either a I5s or I6. So kind of him. I went reluctantly with him as I dont believe in spending thousands for a phone. The sales person said NO STOCK. You will have to wait for weeks for I5s and DONT KNOW WHEN for I6 but you can put your name down in our waiting list which consists of a few pages of names already in the que.. I politely thanked the cute little boy and told my husband I am going to stick to my NOT SO SMART BUT RELIABLE ,TAHAN LASAK, DROWNED for 20 minutes but still can be revived without CPR RM200 phone. But my darling husband still put his name in the waiting list for me. That made me started thinking do I really need a smartphone. I remember when I was using my sons Samsung II, I screwed up my relationship with my children as I had a lot of expectation like replying my Whts app message immediately, send me photos of their activities, getting information for me fast, booking tickets immediately, Also I suddenly realized with all this texting, I forgot how to talk and hearing them and vice versa. They sounded so impatient when we actually talk and my son even told me that he is not a phone person. I immediately put a stop to that and I told them if they want to communicate with me, they will have to TALK to me. Its very scary how a small gadget like that can change our lives without we realizing it. I have become a person with a lot of expectations, impatient, multi-tasking dangerously ,lazy and even with health problem. So the challenge is ON! I would like to challenge someone else but frankly I cant think of any.
